    I dunno. Seemed to work pretty well on ice. Courtesy of @tetten





    Edit: I was right behind @tetten and that ice was sketchy. That was a "shit your pants" kinda slide. Four wheels locked. STT Pros, MTP's, Goodyear Wranglers, and my Bighorns made it without issues. I was locked with ATRAC on. Started losing forward momentum the last 5 - 10 feet of that ice sheet and chattered my way to the finish.

    The rest of the time Jason only lost traction on purpose.

    I'm surprised by the MTR hate. I just ran a used set for the first time this weekend and it's been pretty good. Combination of mud, rocks, trails, no ice though and no sand. I run them low, and that may be why you guys aren't seeing the results you want. I had terrible offroad performance at 20 and 15psi. Once I get down to 8-10psi they work great. Gotta run beadlocks at those pressures though. I fully expect my sidewalls to be a problem in the future based on other's experiences, both in durability and their ability to provide traction when at low pressure in sand. The sidewall lugs are just pathetic, trumped by my BFG KO2s even. I probably have a set of Maxxis Trepadors in my future

    I should point out that these things are amazingly balanced. They haven't been balanced at all and were hand-mounted on a set of Method 105s by me and they actually don't shake, shimmy, wobble. I really mean it when I say they handle great on-road, which is very surprising.

    This might be a bit of an apples-to-oranges, but this is what I'm running. They're 40" MTRs on 8-lug Method 105s.

    That's true. I run mine at 10psi. No bead lockers though and i've never had an issue.

    I run 12psi in the rocks and once I'm in snow I go to 5psi. Been down 3psi before and haven't had a problem without beadlocks.

    If you're careful you probably can run without beadlocks. No way I would though with the rocks and throttle I have to use to get through some things. I went from doing 60 and jumping it on a fast trail to a steep crawl in 1st gear at the rev limiter. I just was trying to say you have to go very low to get these to perform. I wouldn't consider them for anything more than a dirt road at anything above 15psi at my size
