Yeah the Tundra bumpers are cheaper than the Tacoma ones from SDHQ luckily

Why's that? SDHQ have a bad rep or something? I've been there twice so far and they were really chill both times. I have their ABS guards on my truck.

No I like them, but people tend to be judgmental on this site about dropping the coin at that shop

I've been to SDHQ twice. One by myself and one with my son. Each time I felt like I was bothering them as I was only buying small items and not building a race truck.

The second time I was asked to leave because my son was walking around while I was paying for my parts by the owner.

There are other vendors that are a lot friendlier that produce a comparable product that I choose to give my money to.

I feel the same. If I'm not putting serious money down, they won't talk to me. I like Sierra Expedition a lot better. They are nice and not looking to sell me Icon's and the most expensive tacoma parts. I'm on a budget build, not the let's see how much I can blow build.

Wow, that's the exact opposite vibe I got. The first time I showed up I was looking for the ABS guards. They were off getting powdercoated so I just strolled around the showroom for like 20 minutes. I did ask about ditch light brackets too but they were a little on the pricy side compared to cali raised so I passed. Someone even grabbed a box of 'em for me but I said no thanks, and no one seemed exasperated.

Second time I came in for the guards, someone went and grabbed them for me right away. I paid & was treated like a normal customer. I mean, I don't expect them to roll out the red carpet but at the same time no one was like "gee nerd, only spending $70 today??"... I got a free sticker too. :notsure:

To each their own though, I'm not about to start an internet fight over it. I would be upset too if I didn't feel like I was being treated right. I'm definitely going to check out Sierra though, just because holy crap this is awesome that there are so many shops in this city! I'm loving it, even though it means I'm gonna be perpetually in the poorhouse.:p

Seeing as how there are numerous documented cases of people taking their sensors out with an accidental whack of a tool or an errant foot, it's not unreasonable to think they could be trail damaged too.

Ounce of prevention and all that. This is why we put skid plates on, isn't it?

When Cliff worked there, no brainer, want to support the people who show me love. I went there after he left to pick up those dual light bar brackets. The owner walked right by me, new face in the shop, not a word. A good owner would have said "Hey fuckface, thanks for buying shit, hope to see you again, even if you're a broke dick cause you aren't buying two S8s with those brackets!" or something close to that. I won't take away from how impressive their operation is, but customer service left with Cliff for the average Joe around here. Not sure I would source much else from them unless I was building something from scratch and needed builder parts. They remind me of the Grunion of Offroading, that isn't a good thing. Yeah, I bought nickel plated PTC fittings and air lines from those guys, but I would never initiate a build with them because they weren't humble by the time I became a customer. Every dollar counts except when your average customer is building a bullet proof Escalade or a LS3 FJ...

The kid I dealt with seemed nice enough though.

I would rather put money into Pelfrey or Avid pockets at this point. Just my humble and unsolicited opinion.

Back to blaming the Tundra heauxmeaux! :D

Do you have the 4 speed auto or the 5 speed auto?

Never had any problems with my 4speed.
