I used high temp silicone, and that was a mistake. But also, I don't really ride in the rain, so i have no idea if it leaks. I have been out in super hot weather, and dont have any condensation..

Try it on the cheapo ones. Or look around on Craigslist for a used set. Sometimes they pop up cheap

I know its scary, especially if you only had one set to go with like I did. No shit, took me about an hour to do each light because mine had bullshit projectors to begin with. Because of this I had to make whole new templates for the projectors to sit on. For the OEM guys, you literally just unbolt the halogen housing and replace with a solid projector that is strictly bolt on. I bet we could do each light in half an hour if you are just going to swap to projectors.

I think I'm gonna hit up Toyota Takeover with @fatfurious2 this year... its 28-30 July... have some questions...

What else do I need on the truck? I'm guessing some lighting for night / evening wheeling...a cb and fire extinguisher are given.....

I have some straps, shackles, recovery points front and rear, air compressor, deflators... am I missing anything?

Armor (sliders, skids)? Full size spare? He shredded his drive shaft last year so maybe one of those too

You should be able to do some green trails. Cb isnt necessary, except for trail BS or help. The first time I went, i didnt have one. I just had IFS skid, sliders, and lift. Fire extinguisher isn't necessary either, but good to have. There are a couple stock friendly trails, but i didnt go on them.

Raush closes at dusk, so no night wheeling at all, unless you are in recovery. Ive never experienced that. Always gotten back to camp before then.

I built my own set..... @Me. Projekt saw them yesterday. It's pretty easy to do if you willing to do a little bit of work

Just dont let your wife/girlfriend know you are using your oven to bake headlights. They don't seem to take to that too fondly. Like @Coot83 said, its really not that bad getting the lights apart on the 05-11s. I've never tried a 12+ housing, so I have no idea. When you are taking them apart/have them apart, be careful of the inside of the clear plastic, it scratches real easy. Some sort of non scratch gloves would probably be good too to avoid fingerprints. Once you get the lights apart, the mini h1s or the d2s systems are fairly easy to do. Almost plug and play.

The '12s are just as easy. Myself & @Coot83 have both done it on those. We both have aftermarkets though.

I will suggest that you remove your current set of side steps you have. Being a longer vehicle (wheel base) you're likely to rip them off or get hung up on the trail. Even the green trails have some obstacles that you'll have to cross. Just a thought!
As far as other equipment.....I think the only thing you'll need is a recover strap since F&F has the rest. If you plan to do more of this in the future I think investing in a good set of steel skids is the way to go. I can't tell you how many times my sliders and skids saved my butt this weekend at Bigdogs in Gore.

Those are my exact thoughts on having any steps. They could be more of a hindering piece than a protecting one. Nerf bars to me would be more ideal just because they can "slide" over stuff even though they will likely get dinged up.

yea I downloaded the trail map and I'm going to check out the difficulty and different level of trai and go from there

Raush makes you have a fire extinguisher now (I read that on the web site)

and would we be camping in the park itself? It says they offer free primitive camping there... and who else is down to go to this thing???

Depending on whats going on, I wouldn't mind possibly tagging along on this trip with my truck. I should have my RTT slapped on by then.

Not sure if anyone might be interested, but damn this is a decent deal on some TC UCAs! Im sure it wouldn't be hard to get someone to get those up here.

No, there is camping in the entrance area. They do make you? usually its a different thing. I have one, and can be acquired from Home Depot for $20. but its inside a box, inside a bag. So if Im on fire, it will take me a few min to access it lol.

Ill post up some pictures from last year
