Power Steering Help Please

    My power steering is hard - fluid tank is full - any thoughts or links appreciated - yes I am doing a search but if anyone can help speed things up for me that would be great - 2008 2.7 I put this in 2nd Gen too since there is more traffic but mostly 4.0's Thanks for any help.

    Not sure of your symptoms, but I was experiencing more 'stiff' or 'sticky' steering (no chirps or squeals from the pump). Came across the post below and cleaned up that u-joint at the bottom of the steering shaft, then soaked it in PB. Steering has been fine ever since. Definitely worth a shot before you start ripping out racks and pumps!

    Living is only masking the problem. Once the steering joint goes stiff the damage is already done. The small needle bearing will have rusted up and start turning to powder. Check for play at the joint to see if it's OK.
