Excited to get out camping and I have my eye on a Palimini 19' camper. It weighs under 3000 lbs and has a tongue weight of about 10% of that. I also haul a 660 grizzly in the bed of the truck which weighs 600 lbs.

I am picking up some new tires this week (ko2) and possibly doing an OME 3" lift with dakars.

I am just curious if anyone runs a similar set up and if I will have any issues with this.

    Happy camping!

Au contraire... it is most certainly fishing season. Tuna, yellowtail, dorado, wahoo... I'm hopeful for a great season.

Just started towing 4600lbs Bilstein 6112 /5160 with Dakar leafs and camburg ucas so far it rides great with a weight distribution hitch, but it may help you to get a toy hauler type camper so you don't have all that weight in the bed

How does the back ride? I will be pulling a canoe trailer with 16 trailers all summer.
Did you change your bumpstops as well?

Last summer I was pulling the aluminum kayak trailer with 10 kayaks, so it was only in the 2000 lbs. range.

That should be a breeze to tow...I'm towing a 25' KZ sportsmen showstopper bunkhouse weighing in at 4420# dry and 5500# - 5700# loaded with a tongue weight of 610#. I have a 3" lift - 285/70/17 KO2 - Dakars - Firestone Ride Rite Air bags and I pull my trailer with ease. I usually tow at least 3000 miles during the camping season and have no issues.

With you putting extra weight in the bed of the truck, you may want to consider adding airbags too. I would suggest seeing how bad the truck sags after installing the Dakars and set everything up ready to tow, and then decide if air bags will be needed, I'm guessing they may be needed. Good Luck and happy camping.

Thanks, I was thinking of doing 275/70/17's, however if by some chance I go 265's are E rated tires recommended for the towing I will be doing?

I would love a toy hauler, however may not be in my budget. This 19' I found already has a off road package as well which is great for where we go in BC, Canada.

How cold does it get there overnight?

I've got 265/75/16 Cooper St Maxx E rated. They are the largest in that size but not the heaviest.

First, if I could do my tire size again, I would go 275 or 265, 285's are great don't get me wrong, but not needed if you don't plan on doing heavy off-roading, 265 or 275 would be just fine for towing capabilities and really anything else you want to do. As for the rating of the tires, I personally don't see any difference in the ride quality of my "E" rated tires, from my previous "C" rated tires. I just put slightly less air in my tires than suggested on the tire. I run about 32-35psi and the truck rides nice. The "E" rated tires are heavier and that means you will sacrifice in MPG. I will say, my truck sticks to the road like glue, with or without camper in tow.

Thanks for the response, what type of lift setup are you running?

Well, I am running something many on this forum shy away from. But everyone I have talked to on this site that runs the same lift I do actually really like the lift. So, I am running a complete Rancho lift, P/N RS66901R9. I love the lift, the ride is great, and the adjustable shocks function awesome. The lift is easy to install too.

When we work up it was 2° F. But it was a 10 mph breeze with the snow. In the minus single digits. We were watching the river freeze as we ate breakfast.

Well, I found an old toy hauler and pulled the trigger.
