Nice! sounds like a great day! Really sorry I missed it, even more sorry I will miss this weekend coming up.
With any luck I'll be ready to wheel just as the weather gets really really hot. That is how the wives like it.

Wish I would have seen this I struggled with a bolt for 2 days this weekend. The damn thing was basically fused with iron oxide. I had been spraying it for a couple of weeks with PB blaster because I knew it was gonna be a pain in the ass to bust loose.

Ended up putting enough torque on it I snapped a torx socket

    tiedowns.jpg
The Solution was a vice grip and buying another torx socket that combo was the only thing that kept it from spinning.

    tiedowns2.jpg

New Fresh Dodge Sprinter D-rings that actually spin and move! Old ones were frozen in place.

Ever since our URE trip a couple of weeks ago Ive noticed a sound I cant exactly describe it very well. Id say it seems like something in the front end isnt as smooth. Seems to have a low hum at higher speeds and sounds kinda like metal on metal at lower speeds. Its not that loud its kinda of a faint background noise. I have to drive with the window down and stick my head out the window to really hear it well. Im thinking wheel bearings are starting to go on driver side. Whats the best way to properly diagnose? I dont want to order a set from BamaToy install and realize it was something else and still hear the same thing after doing wheel bearings. I also dont want to end up on the side of the road like Loflin. Any thoughts @Sandman614 @Blkvoodoo ???

Lol. Sounds like it could be the wheel bearing. You can lift it on a jack and see if there's movement in the bearing but there isn't always movement when it starts making noise. Is it worse when you turn one way or the other while driving?

Only one way to know for sure pull each side down to bare hub and spin and wiggle. You might be able to hear it just lifting wheel off ground.
Odds are pretty good that this is your issue though

Congrats! Way to persist. I've got an impact screwdriver, may just hammer on mine just to make sure that they aren't frozen.

The only think that I'd add @BeasleyNC is that before you take your wheel off, wiggle it in every axis. My driver's side was self evident, but with out the wheel/tire on the passenger side, the movement is too slight to notice by examining the hub alone.

Other common sources for noises like that:
    1. Mud, little rocks. It gets everywhere and can migrate into your moving parts. Rarely causes damage but can cause noise temporarily.
    2. Pulleys. I've had to change them out a couple of times. They cause all kinds of noise when full of dirt, muddy water, what have you. as soon as the bearings fail. Thing is it's always going to sound like the "driver's side" from the driver's perspective.
    3. Front Diff Bearing... ECGS has a fix, has very specific noise behavior. There is a thread here that dives deeply into these details.
    4. And the wheel bearings... common enough to order your replacements to have around. If it isn't now, it's going to be later , probably right after you spend your last dollar on something you didn't really need right now.

The reality, if one is bad, the other isn't far behind, they've done the same traveling and terrain.

I agree and disagree with that statement. Yes for me if something like that is a OEM part and starts to fail I'll replace both (I replaced both mine a year ago). But doesn't always mean other will fair soon after

    Law of averages

I'd rather do both now and feel better about it than know that SOON IS COMING
There is nothing saying that a new bearing can't go bad 20 miles down the road

Naw I agree with that if its a original, like if a ball joint, u joint bearing goes and the other side is original i replace both sides no questions asked.
