That's how the Honda Odessy works. Maybe the Ridgeline too?

    I like it.

I'd be a fan of an electronic two speed rear axle as well. On road/off road/tow

I know only know 4 people with 2016-2017 Tacomas. They each have 6 cylinders with automatic transmissions. These are professional men with stock vehicles. 100% of them as dissatisfied with the transmission. Only one of them is on TW.

That's my case in point. They sell how many per year? Way more owners are just driving them. In fact, I'd argue that we ALL drove these trucks BEFORE we bought them. Did they only suck abundant ass AFTER we bought them? No, so we ALL knew how they drove and STILL bought them. Some of us can't handle that inconvenient fact... and that's where TW comes in. A place to run your sewer.

This seems to happen Jake. Though, I think Toyota is paying attention to TW and that is a good thing.

That is about as scientific and accurate as your Bradwhitenikki days and using your inclined driveway to "prove" shift flares. I know, I know, we need to trust you, you're an engineer that works closesly with Toyota and Aisin. Your proof is the internet told us so.

Totally agree. There was an issue with delayed engagement and shift flare. Software either corrected or masked it and for me on both my 16 and 17 SR5's that was the fix. No software is going to give you a massive amount of low end torque or less gears.

Massive amounts of torque? I'm just looking to get as good or better low end torque that I had from my 2003 Ranger 4.0L with 150k+ miles on it.

It's highly unlikely you have extremely similar verbiage and language use and 90% of your posts are in relation to transmission valve body and howling diffs with your 1 week old account.

True on all accounts. 5th gear ratio should have been a little closer to 4th gear. It is a big jump for a heavy vehicle with limited low end torque.

Did you know the first auto had two gears? It was called a tourqeflite. Then they came out with an auto with 3 gears. Then they went to a 4 speed auto. Man, I remember when that happened, and it was a real big deal. A 4 speed transmission? Get outa town. It was great in the Corvette, but it was a piece of garbage in the P/U. Then came the 5 speed. Then the six speed. Psshhhhhh. Dodge, oh excuse the hell outa me, RAM has an 8 speed. Can you imagine how that thing hunts?
If you have it in S4 in the mountains and it is bugging you that it is hunting, then put the thing in third. It won't hurt it. Like I said, we used to have 3 speed autos. Heck, we would put those in second in the mountains.
Sometimes you have to be a little smarter than the truck. You want a 6 speed manual and you can't even figure out how to drive an automatic? :rofl:Have you ever heard the term DOWNSHIFTING? Do y'all even know the meaning of it?

Perhaps more than 1 person on this forum has similar knowledge about this truck. This is the law of large numbers. It's like having 70 people in a room. What are the odds that 2 have the same birthday? About 100% not intuitive, but it can happen. Anyway, let's be mature and stay on topic please.

Just made a trip to show low last weekend. It drove awesome my buddy in front was driving an old 4 runner i caught him on every grade. Not to mention i counted 20 time of him hitting his brakes to my once on the descents. I hope you use ECT in the mountains. If not the drive is going to suck.

    Exactly.....

I drive my truck like my grandpas old "3 on the tree" dodge he had on his farm.

It's lead my friends to laugh at me and call my truck "6 on the floor"

Who on their right mind wants a truck you have to tiptronically shift in a daily driving/non-spirited scenario. What a joke.

I think the real question is, "What are the odds that more than 1 person would fabricate the same ridiculous theory?"

Are you referring to the theory that there is a valve body leak down causing shift flare? This is a real issue. @gearcruncher
