You mean you don't want to repeat the list of issues followed by the fact that you already own a newer T4R and detail, again, about the $$ it would cost you? I'm guessing there's one or two member who don't know so it might need repeating.

I really doubt they are getting anywhere close to that asking price especially with so many available. When I traded mine 6 months ago, it took the dealer 6 weeks to unload it and there were not near as many used ones available at the time.

I would agree with you, but have you been on IHMUD lately? Lots of early 200 series radiator failures around 90k-100k miles. Although most of them were caught early enough before it was too late.

To me, the 4Runner seems like the more affordable reliable option.

There's a boat load of 3rd gens in my area both new and used...but, it seems supply hasn't really been an issue for this area. I mean I see them everywhere...people are buying the shit out of them.

I don't think the area supports the price range yall have tho. I can find several used on dealer lots right now that are 2016 or newer ranging from a few thousand miles to 25k. All 4x4 limited, or 4x4 TRD OR/Sport from about 31k. That's retail "asking" price so would have to guess trade in value is at least 15% less.

Our local dealer has 2017s DCSB 4x4 ORs w/tech & JBL for rentals and dealer loaner vehicles. I'm thinking I might be tempted to throw a Yaris in there if I was him.

If the value does nose dive it doesn't matter to me because I'm planning on driving this truck to the wheels fall off.

Resale only matters if you sell/trade your truck. If you drive it till it dies resale value is neligible.

This turd gen is going to have 300,000 miles, completely rusted out from the road salt, and paint faded and ready for the salvage yard before somebody gets their hands on my truck.

I didn't say there wasn't any used tacomas on lots I said I have not seen any. I am sure that there are used 2016s on lots of ever car company like Ford, Chev. and Dodge. There probably are some used 2016s Ford F-150s on Fords lots like the one you traded your tacoma for. People have a lot of reasons to trade up but that doesn't mean that their vehicle was a lemon.

GL surpassing 300k mi w all the "upcoming" recalls in the future... lol. Nice point on the resale.

Been on IH8MUD since 1999 :) I had 60, 80, 100, and am on my second 200 :) My first 200 went 137K miles, no issues. My second 200 has 32k trouble free miles.

There are three TRD sport third gens at my local dealership all listing for $33,950-34995 with 10-15k miles and none of them have the premium and tech package, tonneau cover, or running boards pretty stripped versions of the TRD sports. That was the same selling price I paid when I bought mine 6 months ago.
Resale hasn't been affected yet but if it does nose dive I don't care because I'm not getting rid of my truck until it's literally dead. I will buy a 4th gen and make it my new daily driver when it comes out and use the 3rd gen for hardcore off roading. At that point I won't be scared about damaging a $35k truck.
