    From the bed rail, they come back 7.50". They can also be lowered about 3/8" from where I have mine set.

    Of course you still need to compress the front forks and strap down, but the chocks will really help locking it in place. When I used to ride and had my first gen I dumped my bike over a few times.

    I bet with a little enginuity these would work fine on a third gen :thumbsup:

    I couldn't be happier with this system. I've used it a handful of times now for 2 bikes. It works awesome and really simplifies things. No more crossing scraps through bikes......and the bottle opener works great too :cheers:
