Well..i have blown a BFG..and have been part of repairs on 6 others in the last 3 years.

so...yeah. Maybe you don't wheel as hard as you say? Idk. I know nothing about you really or what kind of wheeling you do. But i know that everyone that knows anything about tires will agree BFGs have soft side walls. This isn't always a con mind you. BFGs ride aired down amazing. Flexy side walls and increased grip when aired down. But you have to be more aware of that when driving as they are..well softer. So they will puncture more often then other tires.

No side wall is bulletproof anyways(despite what Goodyear would have you believe ha) and a bad line or just an random tree branch that you don't see will make any tire its bitch in the right scenario.

Pro's and con's for every tire out there.

I still think the KM2 is one of the most veresitile aggressive tires out there. But there are better tires offroad..not that those are better all around.

There are better tires for DDs/weekend warriors too.

Not a lot of people have had dirt experiance with every tire though. Plus people are always going to be...well...opinionated. lol

But, read enough about a tire and you can start to see trends. like the ST Maxx last longer then most which is due to the harder compound. But they aren't as sticky.

Do you need stickier tires or longer lasting tires?

once again, its a game or finding out your personal priorities and ranking them and shopping accordingly.

i do know that some shops hate the KO2s as they won't balance well(can't buy them in my town due to that, they won't sell them to you). I also know people who own them and say this hasn't been a problem for them. I also know they are softer and can start to chunk a bit later in life...but so what, every tire does if you wheel them hard.

I'd have to check what the total was after the trade-in on my old ones. They are kinda expensive with the laser etch and all.

that would turn a $1200 tire swap to a $3000 tire swap. 16s was the plan till i seen price difference between the tire sizes. so ive been deciding if all that extra money is worth it for better brakes.

word. Why Frankenstein shall remain on 15s for a while..35s are CHEAP on 15s compared to 16/17s haha pretty nuts.

sadly, as you stated already, tire choices and sizes are getting smaller and smaller.

Exactly my point. For each and every tire available, you can find ten different people signing its praises and ten more cursing it's existence. Most of which have no clue what they're talking about. Ha ha. Like I said, I find it entertaining.

    Everything is subjective, always.

    Pretty much..everything Suspension..the whole thing.

Why i always enjoyed doing the "truck shuffle" at TW meets where we take turns driving eachother trucks. It's so crazy how the same basic truck can be SOOOO different after what each person has done to them. Fun though.

But they don't last as long :cookiemonster:

    What's oil?

Dude, yes. I run skinnies. Fit my needs perfectly. However, I had a chance to hop in a truck on 12.5 wides (all else comparable) and take a spin. Holyshit you are so right about the ride difference of wide vs skinny.

Care to elaborate? Wide tires feel sloppy? Skinny tires ride rough?

Wides were considerably smoother going fast-ish (30-50) on rough washed gravel/dirt roads. Both trucks at 15 psi. My 255/85/16 km2 and a buddy's 33x12.5r15 ko2

    Check Build thread
I've got a pretty descent slash in the sidewall but shows no sign of failure after it happened 5k miles ago. Do agree the sidewalls are their biggest flaw

I feel like the ko2s are kinda stiff (on 33s again though)
