Hey everybody! I'm going to do my best here to keep this from getting confusing. There are 2 seperate builds here. Below is the beginning or "Chapter 1" outlining the build of my first Tacoma which I loved dearly.
"Chapter 2" the new truck begins on page 39 I'm going to post a link that'll hopefully take you strait to that page if I can work this correctly!

Where this journey begins Chapter 1:

Hi all thanks for stopping by! I probably should have started this a while ago so my old ass wouldn't have to try and remember all this crap. I've only been a member just over a year and what a year it's been. I'm sitting here recoverying from a second shoulder surgery so hopefully this will keep me busy.
I'd wanted a Toyota truck since my buddy had one in HS boy was that a long time ago. The kids are pretty well gone now and it's just me and my wife so I felt the time was right. I made my mind up about 10 years ago I wanted a white 4cyl automatic access cab 4wd. Well, Dec. 2015 was just the rt time and my local dealer had just the rt truck. 2013 2.7l ac, at, 4wd, and SR5 so with a little dealing I drove it home.

    Curent state clean and simple

This was how she sat at the dealer

And now these were pre skids from SOS

I started almost as soon as I bought it modding first was a trailer hitch, wiring harness, vent visors, a bug guard, and Husky floor liners. Then I made the mistake of going to a local truck shop where they sold me a Rough Country spacer lift and I bought a set of wheels and tires off CL. M/T wheels with 285/70/17's

Then I found TW and all hell broke loose. Out came the spacer lift and the wheels and tires and the modding hasn't stopped.

Table of contents (to help me find things I may need to revisit)

Pg 7: Suspension, wheels, and tires
Pg 8: Front bumper and sliders
    Pg 10: Skids
Pg 12: The paint in the bed mod

Most all of this was completed in the last 8 months with the support of a loving wife and a couple of particularly good friends. Thanks to @TacoFMS and the support and advice of the 50+ thread.
I'm just an old fart with a little white truck that's going to see some hard off road miles I hope. Any advice is welcome any negativity please keep it to yourself.

The following is just a gathering of some pics as I have fought my way through this journey:

(oops how did that get in there)

Thanks for dropping by I hope I didn't bore you! Thanks again to those of you who have supplied me with ample amounts of support and especially patience. For those of you who don't know me I've over 30 years of doing autobody work, paint, welding , and fabrication but I keep an open mind and try to learn. I don't know everything but i know a little and I've had alot to learn about with these trucks. Hopefully I'll have some cool adventures to add to this.
God bless you and have a wonderful day!

No problem at all. Glad I could help and that you actually trust my advice despite my lack of knowledge/experience.

Welcome sir! I'll be working on a little project rt down your alley if the parts ever come in. I ordered the new side projecting ditch lights to replace the ones I have. I'm then going to move the ones I have to the front bumper with laminex amber film on them for fogs

Looks good, the paint in the bed reminded me that I was pissed off at your wife. And why is there a homeless man next to your truck in that one pic?

I red a lot before buying, it is better to spend on a good antenna since all cb can't push more than 4watts. So I went simple with a Uniden 510, compact and easy to use. I picked a 5' fiberglass antenna with tunable tip, wich I wull mount on my tailgate with the mount I bought from Shmellmopwho. If you want a good and simple setup I would recommand a 3' magnet antenna for the roof top. Easy to tune and really good range! In my case a roof mounted antenna wasn't good because I would have to take it off when putting the canoe or ladders on the shell crossbars. A buddy of mine got a compact Cobra cb with a K30 magnet antenna for 100$ on Amazon. Cheap and good setup imo! Hit me up if you want more informations!
