Looking for a lockable storage box for rifle or shotgun, to be mounted on side rail in bed. Have a 2017 TRD OR. Image is modified from Lund model that hangs down over wheel well for storage, have no use for that, just need lockable storage for my O/U thats 51" end to end. The Lund 60" would be fine length-wise, maybe a little too long but just don't need the extra storage. Anybody seen anything like this?

Sorry I got nothing, but bump to the top. Anybody got ANY sort of storage box fastened to the bed rails? I've seen the swing case thing, might go that way, but it seems like it'd be nice to have a box that fastens to the bed rails. Did a search, didn't find it. I guess I could decide on what sort of box and then just fasten it to the rails, but looking for what others might have done.

What about somehow mounting a pelican case inside the bed? If you could find a mount for a 1720 case or larger maybe that solution could fit. I did see a pelican on a roof rack, check this out:

Also you could just put a case in the bed with tie downs if you needed temporary solutions.

Also I would consider this as well: http://www.lockerdown.com/Tacoma_Long_Gun_Safe_p/suvault__model_3012.htm

I was thinking of making at .12 gauge fit under the rear seats. I have a double cab tho. Also depending on how much you want to spend. Mossberg now sells a new 590 with a 14 inch barrel but is 26inch in total length so legal in most states, thats if your just trying to store a truck gun for self defense. I live in cali so I most likly can not buy it, cali sucks.

I think I'm going to end up getting the Molle panel behind the back seats and put a scabbard and shorty on it.

The Lockerdown looks nice but have DC with JBL so it's a non starter. The under seat storage from ESP isn't long enough so would have to break the shotgun down. Trying to keep from doing that but could probably fit an AR in that one. Also have a Backflip G2 so don't want to have to open the entire cover to flip open the lid on a Pelican. Trying for a lockable door on the end so can just slide it out after dropping the tailgate. Shoot trap & upland birds so would rather not have to break down the over under every time. Bed slide vaults are out of my price range, if I had the money I would go that route. I'm a cheap bastard though

Fort Knox makes a shotgun box that opens on the end.

Lockable storage boxes?? I don't have any idea on it. Hope that it might be there on eBay. I think you are looking for some places to keep it safe for a long time. If so, then I can help you. We once got service from a self-storage unit Burlington, while we were doing house renovation. We have kept our furniture, kitchen wares, home appliances there for one and a half months. But I am not sure whether they keep guns in their storage unit. If you are allowed to keep, ensure that it is clean because the dirt and debris can cause rust. Oil the gun since it can shield your gun from outside elements and moisture. Also, place silica packs along the gun box, we had added one with our storage packs to absorb the moisture.

Found this thread while searching around for a solution.

I ran into this video while searching the depths of YouTube over the weekend:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtD-tm_ovV4

Tracked down their website but they only sell to LEO and Security and the price is high ($1624 shipped): upload_2018-1-8_16-2-25.jpg

    Anybody have any alternative solutions?

Yeah, getting into slide vault price range and no mounting fasteners. Would also interfere with the accessory box on the right or left side assuming it would mount on either side. Didn't want to cover them up. Thanks for adding to the thread. Nice safe though
