New truck maintenance

    Hi,
    I recently bought my tacoma, and I am getting ready to do my first oil change on it. But I want to know what else you guys would reccomend checking at my mileage.
    What I have done:
    I put a new battery in it.
    New Bosch air filter
    And before I got it at 150k miles the previous owner burnt out a valve in the head and just replaced the whole head.

    What I plan to do this month:
    Oil change with valvoline 5w30 synth blend with a new drain plug and gasket just in case
    Transmission and t-case fluid change with redline Mt-90 and new gaskets for the drain plugs
    Front and rear diff fluid change with valvoline
    $29 75w-90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)
    75w-90 gl5.
    After all of this I got a 1200 mile round trip planned at the end of the month.

    1 owner 2002 TRD, SR5, DC, 2.7. Full OME suspension, STT pro's.
    OME 881 coils with OME nitrochargers shocks up front. TC UCA's OME Dakars with extra leaf in the rear. Warn 8000 winch with 80ft custom braided synth line. Custom 60ft synth extension. All pro tube bumper, Hi-lift jack, Safari Snorkel, Wilco tiregate. 2019 Jeep JLUR.
    At 150k, you should be doing all 3 drive belts and water pump. The 2.7 uses a timing chain and they are pretty good up to about 500k.

    Also have a look at the steering rack, outer tie rod ends, lower and upper ball joints.

    A trans flush and coolant flush should also be on your list.

    I thought a transmission flush was only needed for automatic transmissions. I have a standard transmission.

    I forgot to add that all three belts were replaced. Not a fun experience on my part. I screwed up the threads of my tensioner bolt for the power steering. A I spent a week with no power steering during break up.

    And the coolant tested good. So that is not a immediate concern. I will hit the coolant on my next oil change

    Yes. Sorry. Didn't see where you had a manual.
    If the coolant tests out ok, then great.
    Had mine done because it hasn't been changed since I bought it new in 2001. It was only like $100 from Toyota but I was having other work done there as well

    So I ended up leaving the the fluid in both of my diffs alone. The oil in the front and rear diff looked brand new. Tranny and t-case were a different story. Tranny was dark brown and the T-case was Grey. I replaced both with redline MT90. Checked my fluid levels again 24 hours latter after a short drive and they were both still full. Thanks for the advice!
