Am I the only one not freaking out? Yes it sucks but it's ONE recall. I mean shit look at the past years number of recalls

This site truly astounds me sometimes. I know coming on here is like stabbing my eyes but I still do it anyway. Y'all are insane.

The dealer gave me a Corolla loaner and it had 10k miles on it. The front rotors were totally warped. Someone was up to no good!

The frame recall and airbag are the ones keeping vehicles that long.

My concern is what affect is this recall going to have on my resale value? Three months into my 2017 and a recall? Wow

The fact the issue is fixed is what matters in the long run. WOW a recall, everyone sell your truck now, take bottom dollar as the market is going to tank.

Seriously folks, its not the end of the world, stop getting caught up in the TW hype.

no, documented resale values of 2016/17 are the best#1 in its class>>Kelly blue book. having a gasket and fastners replaced in a certain amount of trucks that may or may not even require them is nothing to get upset about. as others have stated a million times don't let the TW overhype hysterics effect your sanity.

most people I talk to on the street that have 3rd gens are very positive about them, even a few that had taken the truck in for the trans TSB are statisfied with the results and how it was all handled, and no howling rears when I asked them. the accumulation of all these issues stated on TW hasn't hurt the Tacoma Rep on the street at all where im from.

My VIN came up negative for recall. 5k service is soon though and I will have them check it anyway.

its like night and day, whenever I run into a 3rd gen owner I ask about their trucks and how they like them %100 so far ive talked to love the truck. my brother in law has the 2016 trd auto had a TSB reflashed absolutely loves it, he was a straight up Ford guy his whole life, and tells me how amazed he is with the lack of problems he has had with the Tacoma as far as the Fords/Mercury trucks he has owned with the same mileage.

My thoughts exactly. I'm going to do a visual inspection myself this afternoon.

Don't look up the number of recalls there are in other cars/trucks then...... you will be just as unhappy as you are now.

Truth. I think a lot of the issues come standard with a new TW account.

Yes & no in my experience. I personally believe Toyota will get the bugs ironed out...and at least, overall, do what they can to maintain their reputation. I'll also say if I was in the market right now, most likely it would be another Tacoma but of the several people I know & have known for years, not all of them will be a repeat customer. My brother is a great example. Him & his wife have always owned a Toyota truck. From before it was a Tacoma in fact. His first 2nd gen that he only owned a few years had the head issue, his second second gen the frame issue followed by his 3rd gen having a few the issues we see on here. He's probably not going back to Toyota. OTOH I've had pretty much nothing but a perfect experience with all the Toyotas I've owned...never owned one with a single issue...gotta say Toyota has made me expect ZERO issues.

ON EDIT: My brother is not on TW.
