Has anyone with a leaky diff in an off road been able to have their dealer fix the issue?

Took my truck in today for its second service. It's a 2016 off road and the rear diff has some seepage stains around it. Service manager was nice but stated that it was not within the recall list and fell within spec.... Should I call back and ask for the diff gasket to be replaced under warranty?

It looks as if the dealer determines the differential falls with whatever they consider leaking, they then take the truck and wait on more orders from Toyota. Everyone that has had the confirmed leak, Toyota has taken the truck and have no estimate on when the truck will be repaired.

Hahaha, I'm in the same boat! My entire underside couldn't find a leak as it is coated! I guess I will have to simple green the underside really well and then check for leaks afterward.

I brought my truck in this morning because I noticed seeping around my diff. My vin wasn't included in the recall but they held onto it all day because they weren't sure what toyota wanted to do. I came back after work with the loaner CRV they gave me and the guy helping me had just finished the work order for the replacement parts for new gasket and bolts I'm guessing. He let me take my truck and said call you when the parts come in. They were cool about it, my truck only has 4K on it and it's 4x4 manual sport access cab. So being fixed under warranty not recall.

Checked my truck today. Bone Dry. (17' W/1700 Miles. ). I did notice a "Hino Automobile Thailand" sticker with barcode on the diff housing. I guess it is a contracted part for Toyota? Not sure if its the same Hino that produces the diesel cab overs delivery trucks. Anyone know more about the origin of these particular components?

The more guys who bring the "non -listed" trucks the more likely we will see this recall eventually cover all the trucks.

Just because....IIRC, Toyota (TM) owns a little more than half of Hino.

Is here any chance that this recall is a giant Hoax put on by Tacomaworld to gain more members?

Sure see a heck of a lot of guests logged on last few days. Hmmmm.

The dealer I brought it to was where I bought my truck. They thought it was so weird that my vin wasn't recalled but it had a leaky differential. No conspiracy here guys
