Why would it be a hoax when most of us with some time logged into this board are all reporting our findings? Call your dealer if you don't believe it or the news websites posting the issue or was this sarcasm?

I am almost sure this recall is a Tacomaworld membership drive Hoax.

Proof - Take the date joined by each person that said they have gone to the dealership and add it to their member number, subtract the posting number, then take the negative square root of the sum. My calculator shows an error/hoax on each their posts.

Be careful is all I am saying at this point.

I went to the dealer for my 15K checkup. I knew about the recall (because it is all over TW). I looked at my diff before my appt and did not notice any leaks or obvious stuff. Just I need to clean some caked mud around the underside of my bumper. At the dealership, they said that my vin was not on the recall but inspected and did the retorque anyway. The did not notice anything out of spec and the fluid was good. I have a 2017 Off Road that was made in Baja Cali. I’m not sure if that makes a difference on the recall. There were 3 Gen 3 Tacos there. I did not have a chance to talk with the owners,I was Working From Home …from the dealership. I'm not sure why they were there.

Overall, a pretty good experience. An they had donuts...SCORE

Addendum: Later that day I was Working From Home ...From Gallagher's Pub--- Double Score

Agreed - Maybe Toyota purchased Tacomaworld as a propaganda site.

My VIN is not on the recall, but I've got leaking. 2016 OR from Baja. Just called to set up an appointment with Toyota. Service advisor asked if I wanted the "good" news or "bad" news. Toyota will fix it, but they want to hold affected vehicles until they are fixed. He said they do not have the "parts???" yet and it could be 1-2 months. They said I'd get a rental until I get the truck. He said they just recently inspected 40 trucks and did not find any leaks, so he was surprised that mine was affected. We shall see on Friday.

I got a call back today saying the parts are in. I literally brought it in yesterday and they got the parts in less than 24 hrs. Not sure how they got them so fast but my tech said that toyota does not want to replace rear differentials because of the cost. I'm also located in the Bay Area so maybe they shipped them from the fremont plant or maybe they got a rush on the parts, they couldn't technically hold my truck because it wasn't on the recall list so I'm ok with that. Hansel toyota in Petaluma is taking care of me and I'm thankful. I will report back after the fix on Friday.

My service advisor stated I could probably keep driving the truck, as well. We'll see, once they actually talk to Toyota and see what they want to do. If they can't get me a truck as a loaner, I'll have to keep driving it!

That's the catch. The dealers are bound by the recall notice to wait. But if your truck is not on the list and leaks, then it is a simple warranty issue and not a recall so they can fix your truck. That in itself is pretty maddening.

2 trucks come in both leaking.

Truck #1 Is on the list: Sorry Sir we need to take your truck and hold it until Toyota says we can do something.

Truck #2 Is not on the list, sir we will get right on that, got r parts and your good to go.

Fuck it! When I take my truck in for my 10,000 mile service. If they have to keep my truck, I'm going to ask well are y'all going to pay my truck note for as long as you're keeping it too? I'm sure if everyone did that that'd get the ball rolling on this BS.

Why should we have to pay for a truck that isn't in our possession and has an indefinite return date on a problem that we didn't cause?

They will give you a loaner. A taco too if you ask.
