Its a little light with a button on the underside of it next to my TPMS sensor. Dealership never talked about it and I just now noticed it. I have never seen the light come on, and have no idea its function. Anybody have an idea?

Appears to be some sort of dealer installed alarm or something along those lines. I'm assuming you bought it new?

Pretty sure that is the valet bypass for the alarm. It's aftermarket/dealer installed.

Yeah its a factory alarm. You could have paid 500 dollars or so for them to activate it. They use it to open the cars when its on the lot.

If you bought it new, I would go back to the dealer and have them remove it for you. I wouldn't want that on my truck.

It might work also with your keyless remote entry(if you have it). Does it blink blue when your trucks locked? Kinda like a faux alarm haha. That is what mine did.

Well I know its got one of the Rockledges that got activated when i bought it. And Im assuming I have keyless entry because I just have a fob, and its got sensors on the door handle that either locks or unlocks the truck.

Its an alarm. So yes I believe its for your alarm/keyless entry. The post being about valet mode might be true, but whats valet mode? Disabling the truck to go so fast? Used to be just a different key so they couldn't open a glove box or the trunk in the old days.

Edit: nevermind read bypass for alarm. hmmm why would that be needed when they have the key fob? id still want my alarm on even if parking valet

Did you pay for it? I would be talking to the dealer trying to figure out what the heck it is. I personally wouldn't want any of that junk in there.

On my viper system, valet mode is so that you can lock and unlock the vehicle, but the system doesn't actually arm. This way it won't accidentally be set off by the valet driver.

Then he is going to have two holes in the dash. Pretty sure every truck on the lot has one of these. Except maybe if you don't have a keyless/remote entry vehicle(lower models).

No. This is not a factory installed option, and is not necessary for keyless entry to work. This is something that the local dealer installed. I'd rather have two small holes on the bottom of the dash where I'll never see them as opposed to having that ugly thing there.

Well heres the story. A) Its a lease. B) they had special ordered it for a guy who wanted to have all the tricky trick (bed extender, nav, XM, alarm..) he backed out an hour before I showed up and it just so happened it was the only DCLB on the lot. So I came home with it. Needed that long bed for the bikes.

That makes a whole lot more sense then. I'd go back and see what they say about it. If it's a functioning alarm and you want to keep it, then they could show you how it works.

Wait... "lower model".... ummm my MT TRD Sport is not a "lower model". Well at least it wasn't priced that way! Oh and I don't have that light or whatever it is.

I don't consider keyless entry and push button start an ASSet. just sayin.. in fact its a millennial thing me thinks... you know, just another option being "handed" to them to lesson the work load! :D
