Toyota wouldn't make a mistake like that. They are too big and too good to allow for mistakes like you are experiencing. Someone at the dealership switched out the mirror and then no one else knows about it so your salesman was ready and did throw Toyota under the bus. Not a good practice. Good luck, I do hope they own up to it and furnish you the mirror you paid for! IMO

That's what I was thinking but another member pointed out that the TRD OR doesn't have an option for HomeLink. It only comes with the Limited. Also checking the brochure, it verifies this. BUT all of the TRD OR they are advertising does list HomeLink included. They said it's an error, a generic list. I called BS late last night after checking their website and seeing HL included on all of the OR trucks. Still waiting for their reply/resolution. Thanks for the reply.

It wasn't listed on the window sticker but it was and still is in their online list of features and options. That's why they are saying it's an error. An error on more than just my truck that have for sale online.

ahhhh, I see, well even more of a reason to stick it to them for the option......especially since all it takes to fix it is a keyboard and the right level of access. lol

Update: Dealer purchased and installed a new aftermarket (Gentex) mirror with auto dim and HomeLink built-in for my TRD OR. No charge to me. It seems only the Limited comes with the HomeLink mirror. Parts dept insisted that a new mirror that is made for the Limited would NOT just plug in and work. Not sure about that claim. The Gentex mirror looks exactly like the original Toyota mirror only with 3 HomeLink buttons. Came home and set up my gate and garage door. Works perfectly. No more remotes on the sun visor.

They did not tell me the model number they installed. But I'm 99% sure I know which one it is. I'll get it for you, I'll check the back and see if there's a model number. When I ckecked on sites that sell the Gentex mirror there is a few other models, one having the compass and another having the blue backlit buttons. They all claim to be Tacoma plug and play as long as your factory mirror came with auto-dim feature and the compass. The new Gentex mirror needs power which comes from existing plug in the back of the factory. The least expensive HomeLink mirror was $259 but doesn't have backlit buttons or compass. They do offer a mirror with all of those features but it's $649 Hope that didn't confuse you. Here is a link.

I think the one they bought for me is 50-GENK40A4. The one I would have paid extra for is 50-GENK45AMB5. The Totyota brand that comes with the Limited model supposedly won't work in a Tacoma but I really question that. The Toyota brand mirror is $699. I'm sure they just got me a cheaper mirror with HomeLink for less than the $259 retail price. But it works and is better than what came with the truck, so I'm satisfied they tried to make it right.

It all makes sense. The frameless mirrors looks pretty nice and cheaper. I am surprised no one has opted for one of them... I might do some research and see it they are plug-n-play.
