    Most all replacement compressors require certain parts to be replaced to meet warranty requirements--this is the notice of same from RockAuto's site:

    Here are the various "kits" offered by them--the first one listed, for $253.79 includes a new condensor and has a 12 month warranty--you might need a new drier too...

    It's what I would buyfor a 7-year-old truck. As to the parts, only if you want to have a warranty on the compressor.

    Are you sure the compressor is shot? Usually unless they are run "dry" for some extended period they're OK, a much more common failure is the bearing in the drive/clutch pulley...

    I added the dye to the system and found the the dye all around the compressor. So it time for a new one. Pat

    Are you sure it was not just a leaking connection on either the suction or pressure lines--or both? That would also be a more common failure...

    buy the kit , new compressor, drier, oriface tube. be sure to evacuate the system and have the proper amount of oil in the compressor.......
