My thoughts exactly when I heard. They must not thinks it's too bad if they
don't even plan to start sending out the recall notices until at least Mid-June.

I would be feeling that same way. I would lose my shit. Especially since most of the time you don't get it back in the same shape you drop it off in after having get jockey'd all over the damn lot and left outside. Not to mention I actually use my truck for a truck so what the fuck am I going to do with a Corolla? I would purposefully load all of my yard clippings sans bag into the back seat and make it a point to pick up fill dirt using the trunk.

maybe if you explain your situation to the place you take it too they can help you out somehow with a different car/truck till yours is ready usually they can work with you on certain issues to help you out if your in business and would loose money not having a truck.

Until they start actually fixing them, it may be advisable to wait until they start instead of leaving the truck outside in the lot for a month. Unless it is leaking bad it may be better just to wait.

I just had my truck in for service last Friday and the recall came out later that day so they missed it. It does show signs of weeping all around in places just like the other pictures posted. But on the maintenance inspection sheet when it was serviced it does say the differential and transfer case were full. Now did they really check it??? I may wait too take mine in because it has 20K and no issues or howling or noise. And if it was full when they checked it, as long as it doesn't get worse, it most likely can wait.

I would rather keep the truck then just let it sit at the dealership for a month.

Sure they checked it ... just like the dealership "checked" my engine & cabin air filters the week after I replaced them and recommended that I pay them $100 for new ones. I'd take that with a grain of salt.

Most likely there are probably recommended things to change every so many miles, so they just list those items as bad and most unsuspecting customers end up getting bent over

I think the issue is that if a person buys a truck, it's because they want to drive a fucking truck! LoL I could have traded my GTI almost straight across for a Corolla if that was the vehicle I wanted to spend weeks driving. I have an appointment this Friday for the recall and 5K inspection, we shall see what happens. If my dealer tries this shit, we'll be having a very heated discussion. We have a family roadtrip planned in June and we were planning on using my truck since I have a Bakflip VP and we can use that cargo room for all of our luggage. If we have to alter our plans for that, they better figure out how to get a loaner T4R or another Tacoma with the factory bed cover so we can have zero hiccups.

It would be interesting to know how thick the gasket is? If possible I would be tempted to put it together with a top-quality RTV sealant instead of a gasket (or AND the gasket)--do this on bikes all the time...

that is the extent of my weeping, just sent that to the dealer, she showed a tech
and that is enough to consider it 'downed' and they would keep it until official documentation
is released and parts are available - which could easily be 2 months or more.
