I really hate Entune. Never know if it will connect my phone but it never does it automatically. My 2011 Tundra SR5 worked EVERY time. Never know if the Pandora app will work. Usually bet on not though. Just absolute fucking garbage.

You got me worried about the seats. Hated the seats in my 09 TRD Sport for anything more than a couple hundred miles. If these are incredibly worse then I might be in trouble.

To me the seats feel just like my second gen seats - not a bit different. New covers - that's it.

if i let how bad the seats are deter me, then i would not have bought this truck. i fixed the seat for $200 and the truck is terrific. the seat is something you can work with. short bed, crap AT, lemon driveline, not so much.

I did start to have regrets, and then I drove it some more. AT is still a little weird, but not as bad as the first 1K miles. There's a few problems, but not nearly as many as my last vehicle. I like it. This place will worry you... and realize what mods you're missing. Can't find the wallet burning emoji.

Jeff I didn't read all NINE (9) pages yet but, I don't see what you're driving now...?? Is there a reason you need to take delivery immediately?

I'm a fan of Toyota and while the Tacoma is currently not ranked well, I bet it returns to its typical top position over time.

Is waiting an option for you? I not asking because my lack of faith in Toyota, it's more about if you're questioning it, why do it.

Unfortunately waiting is not really an option. I sold my Ranger a few weeks ago and have been sharing my wife's vehicle in the meantime. I only ment to put out a feeler add on my Ranger with a absurdly high price, but I got interest right away and had to sell at that price ($4800 for an 2002 FX4 that I paid $4000 for 3 years ago. Mind you I added 33's, some off road lighting and bed lined the whole truck, but still..)

I considered hard getting a 4runner, but had a hard enough time convincing the wife we could afford the truck. She wouldn't budge on a higher payment.

Anyhow I love the look of the truck, love the off road capability, and the after market support. I'm just a little concerned about all the negative hype.

Off topic, but is it possible that the T4R seats will install easily into the Tacoma? I'm already looking at options for a more comfortable seat.

Understand. Considering the size of the investment, I would want to make sure it is something I'd be happy with...

I've owned a bunch of Tacomas and I like & have spent time driving the 3rd gen but, T4R would def be my first choice. It's a no brainer, no concern option. Of course and even tho some have had some serious and ongoing, unsolved problems with their new Tacos, there are plenty of people who love them.

    Best of luck man.

I have had my 2017 OR for eight months now and the only real problem that I have had is the howling diff. Now that a recall is in order I would hold off if I were you. If you can. Some folks need a new car now. Do I regret my purchase not really it has given me 18500 miles. A lot of people cant get use to the transmission and power. I had my TSB done and it drives a bit better. The acceleration is bit of a dog when driving in the city but she flat-out flies on the beltway. My whole feeling on this is I did not buy it to race. I am really happy with my MPG 17.4 city and 22.2 highway. If I were you I would wait unless you really need a truck right now. Have you tried out the Tundra

My only regret is the Toyota minivan who put my first scratch in mine. Maybe I'm just content with my truck?

Have a '17 DCSB I got last September, been a great truck, daily driver since, zero issues. I tow construction trailers and a boat, I commute, I play in the mud/snow. Came from a '15 4Runner Trail that got flattened by a tree during a thunderstorm. Honestly, I'd rather drive the Tacoma over the 4Runner for actual street driving, it's much more peppy. As much as everyone bitches around here, I have no complaints with the Tacoma at all. And yes, I did own a '15 2nd gen for a year or so as well, I'd take the '17 any day ha.

I did have my mind made up until today. I had a slow day at work and spent a lot of time on the forum today, and now I'm getting anxious. I'm pretty invested in this decision and I think I will probably end up going through with it. Just wish I didn't have any trepidation. However this discussion and hearing everyone's opinion is actually putting me a little more at ease.
