Any of you guys have an idea on how to smooth out a supercharger housing? I have a SC that the housing made contact with the rotors and so there are circular gouges in it now. Not sure of the best way to smooth it out, would sandpaper work on the aluminum?

(not a picture of mine, but to give reference) It is the bottom portion by the bearings, the sides are fine.

I would suggest sending it out for a rebuild. Just sanding on it is going to fuck all the tolerances and make it a PITA to clearance the rotors properly.

Problem is the rest of the parts are fine, I got a new rotor pack and if I sent it for rebuilding they would suggest a new housing, which aren't available.

The picture is of a clean housing, no damage to that one. :notsure:

If it's as bad as it sounds then I'd just ditch it. It'll get really expensive from there on out.

Im not familiar withr rebuilding superchargers at all but from the sounds of the problem, any decent machine shop should be able to hone the housing for you given the right dimensions and tolerances needed for the lobes:notsure:
Im going to be looking for a shop soon to take a 2 stroke engine to for a bore/ hone and flatten the heads. If they can do an engine, a SC should be easy

Heard a clunking sound from the right front on the way to Shaffers today. Steering was a little sketchy. Glad this didn't go in the Caldecott tunnel...

    Check out the build
Fuckers did the same thing to me. They flattened a tab and when I took it back because the alignment was all jacked they said, "Oh yeah, it's because the tabs got bent when we aligned the truck."

Dude, they have officially lost my business after last weeks BS with my dad's truck.

They told him bring it down no worries for a rotate/balance. It sat for 4 hours, he called to get an update since they told him maybe an hour tops. "Oh, you put a big wheel lug on the wheel and we dont have a socket for that because its too tight against the hole." He told them the only ones who touch his wheels are them, so its their doing...fix it. They told him they didnt have time today to do so, after waiting 4 hours already.

He took it to Les Schwab in Vacaville, they pulled it off and noticed the wheel stud was completely mangled. Which is obviously why BigO ran the too large lug nut on in the first place. They've quickly slipped into being a joke store like the rest.

That sucks! They should pay for a portion of the TC kit.

Luckily, my tabs are still good for now. Shaffers is going to take it to their alignment shop. Hopefully BigO will refund the 3-year alignment plan I paid for 6 months ago. They've done some things (extended brake line install) and have worked on the wife's van, but they're not touching my truck. Well, maybe swap the wheels. I don't think these are going to work out. Too much offset for 9" wide rim. Really better for a Landcruiser.

Back to the @SCSPerformance Ray 10 plan... I'm not sad.
