My 03 Tacoma failed the frame inspection, traded it in a week later only problem is the dealer could not change the title until the frame replacement was done. They had to have the lawyers draw up a document that I was not responsible for the vehicle even tho my name stayed on the title.

The fix is stated in the recall:
"The remedy will involve an inspection to determine if a leak is present between the rear differential and the rear axle. If the vehicle has no signs of a leak, all fasteners will be re-tightened. If a leak is identified, the rear differential carrier gasket will be replaced with a new one, and new fasteners will be installed. If rear differential components are damaged, the rear differential carrier assembly will be replaced with a new one. This remedy will be at no cost to customers."

No, I didn't. There is plenty of misinformation around here.

    Your dealer is a tool.

Take your truck back, turn in your loaner, do your trading elsewhere.

If they give you a hard time, go back with a local investigate reporter from an annoying TV station. Have the GM explain to them why you can't have your truck, or why they won't take it on trade.

Post the video here for all of us to chortle over.

I have no issues with the recall. Stuff happens. It's fine. But to have dealers take your car with no ETA on fix, and inability to sell your car is kind of bad IMO.

Sounds frustrating, but I'm not surprised.

I know that when importing a vehicle from the US to Canada you have to prove ($$$) that all recalls have been performed.

Here is the unique situation. Dealers have no problem taking in cars under recall. The unique problem here is the dealers called all the Totota service centers around, and all said there is no ETA on the fix.

Therefore, the dealer just says come back when the recall is done.

Sounds like a dealer issue, my traded in 03 Tacoma sat 8 months in the back of the dealership. They couldn't sell it until it was done.
