08 Dbl cab 4x4 186k. Been having some minor problems not bad at all. My truck has been paid off for about 5 yrs and wife's SUV was recently paid off also. Drove by a local dealership and stopped in to find out they have a White TRD Pro. Talk me out of it fellas. I need your help!

If it's a 3rd gen go ahead and pass, if it's a 2nd gen and you can afford it .. go for it

You already know it's a poor choice, why do you need us to talk you out of it?

I can think of a million things that 38k+ can go towards rather than a new truck. On top of that a 3rd gen.

Cause then you will be exiled to the 3rd gen section (Ninth circle of hell)

If you're asking in the 2nd Gen forum if you should get a 3rd Gen...

    Uhm...

Dude, minor problems can be fixed. Rear diff recalls and all the other early adopter issues with the 3rd gens is your call to take on if you want. It's your money.

(I'd just continue investing in my own truck if it was paid off)

As I was knelt down looking under the pro I turned and looked at my 08 and it felt like I was cheating on her.

Keep it man. I almost got a third gen and ended up with a low mileage 2006. Couldn't be happier. Dodged a bullet on that one

I mean, just take care of those minor issues before they become bigger ones and take that $500/month you'd be shelling out for car payments and either tinker on your truck or start saving for a trip to Tahiti.

Lord knows that I have more than my share of bills and as tempting as it is to get something shiny and new... I kinda like my truck even with it's squeaks and other oddities. At least the transmission isn't acting like a ADD dog in a squirrel farm!

You'll make the right decision for you, I'm sure. And not ALL 3rd Gen owners are renobs...:bananadead::crapstorm:
