Right - my point is that even though it is only a semi, it still requires a Form 4 because it is an SBR. A semi, in and of itself, doesn't require a tax stamp.

I see where you were going with that. Sorry I was focusing more on then fact semi's dont really matter because AR's are semi to begin with. Even in California they are just watered down semi's.

Decades ago I spent a lot of time with a 1920s vintage full auto Thompson and loved it even though it was surprisingly large, surprisingly heavy, and surprisingly unwieldy. Recently I had the chance to run a few boxes of ammo through a modern semiauto long barreled (non-sbr) version and it sucked. Very well manufactured and tight but even heavier and more unwieldy. Wouldn't give a pint of piss for one of those things new in the box.

Personally, I don't like current AR variants of the AR15 and the M4. During my career in the Army I qualified with everything from the M14 to the M4 and carried both an M1911A1 and an M9 - always preferred the feel of a slightly heavier weapon. But, that's just my personal opinion, like you have yours. The WWII Auto Ordnance M1 weighed 10.6 lbs, the current Auto Ordnance is 10.5 lbs so, at least in this case, they remained true to the original specs.

The great thing about life is that it presents us with many choices.

Not knocking your choice. What I'm saying is that I hated long barrel version. Doesn't appear that is what you are buying.

Waiting on the form 4 to clear on a Griffin Checkmate QD (Monocore version) submitted 7/5/16 hopefully it'll be approved in the next 3-4 weeks, it'd be an awesome college Grad present to receive.

I wanted to get a Griffin Alpha but I just don't want to spend the money right before I move out of state and start a career.

Speaking of the Alpha has anyone seen/heard anything about it lately? I didn't see it on Griffins site and it was released early '16.

Ive never heard of the Alpha before. I was thinking of maybe getting a Liberty Mystic X but not entirely sure how great it is. Anyone have any feedback they can share on it?

Saw on Reddit today that a form 1 filed July 6th(?) was approved today. Hoping form 4's aren't far behind.

I heard there was a lot of forms submitted right before the election as well. Is that true?
