Yeah, I totally understand that. And in the grand scheme of things, at the very least there has (not to my knowledge) been any reports of bad accidents due to locked diff. So yeah, we got that thing going.

No, but I will look for it. somehow I feel liberated from the hassles. I really defended the 16 Tacoma at first. But Toyota dropped the ball on this vehicle as far as I am concerned, If I had not leased a new CRV EXL for the wife I would not have seen the 4 runner I ended up buying. I picked up 20 bags of top soil on a tarp. I have a liner coming. The back seats will rarely if any use so basicallyI have a truck with a cap.....that doesn't have issues. Yeah, I miss the keyless entry, auto lamps, and the push start and the JBL system. But I listen to talk radio most of the time anyway, Never used the Blindside monitor and the screen seems tiny in the 4Runner compared to the Tacoma. It's a give and take thing. For peace of mind I gave up a lot of tech but gained a very capable and solid truck.

I counted a few on the long thread and remember - this recall was only released just a few days ago. the next few weeks will be crazy.

Well - imagine 223,000 trucks qualify for the recall. If there are 50 states, and assuming 20 dealerships per state (average?) I see 200 trucks per dealership. Even if only half get taken in - do they each have 100 spare spots to store these hoopties?

Lets see , lemon law kicks in after 30 days. Toyota on the hook for who ever has a truck in now until the fix comes in . They wait to send out letters as far away in June/july as the law will let them after a recall is announced? They do this because the fix should be ready by then and since most people will not know of the recall until they get the letter , there will be less lemoned trucks ?
There is more to this than Toyota is letting on . How could it take 2 months to procure some bolts and gaskets. Sorry if this has all been said before .
Owner with a seeping TRD OR not on the list, that slightly howls that only I and my wife can hear .

Just decided to cancel my recall appointment. I am on the list and the diff has seeping but not terribly bad and it is not wet. So until they are able to fix it I am not going to let it sit for who knows how long. Already did that bullshit on my 2nd gen frame recall for 9 months

that brings up a good point. My SA said that all affected trucks, toyota is authorizing 30/60 day rentals for, which to me, means they are not really close to releasing the 'fix'. 30 days, lemon law kicks in.

It May not be gaskets and bolts they are spooling up for. They may have reason to believe that there will be many differentials to replace and are spooling up for that

Lemon law does not apply to a recall since the manufacturer brought it up. And if fixed under the recall there is no lemon law claim. That is according to California and Ohio and probably is similar in other states

I've got an off the grid cabin with lots of chores to do. No Corolla or Prius is getting in there...
