Like everybody I ordered a Scanguage..because, well, why not?
Was very impressed with the unit functions itself, not so much with its' mounting options.

I tried on the steering column.
    I tried on the dash.
I tried over the rear view mirror.
I tried several other places I don't recall at this moment.

    Fast forward to today.
I installed my Bird Dawg Industries mirror relocation bracket and the Ram ball for it.
Then, in a vision of pure ingenious imagination, I realized there was now a new home for the Scanguage.

    Into the garage I went.

    Gathered these items.
Not everybody has these things sitting around, I did for one reason or another.

    1/4-20 Ram ball
    Ram Mount arm
    1/4-20 x 1" Bolt
    Misc 1/4" washers
    1/4" drill bit
    Drill
    Precision screwdriver (Phillips)
Magnetic tray or magnet ( for tiny screws)

Step 1) Disassemble the Scanguage w/ tiny Phillips
DO NOT LOSE THE TINY SCREWS!
Step 2) Drill 1/4" Hole in back cover

Step 3) Install 1/4-20 bolt, washers and Ram ball...tighten

    Step 4) Reassemble Scanguage

    Step 5) Install

    Step 6) Admire

I am most pleased with the outcome.
The entire setup is much higher up on the windshield thanks to the Bird Dawg mount.
I now have an unobstructed view with a solid home for the Scanguage.

Hope this proves useful to somebody out there.

    Genius man,

I scored my second Scangauge and I’ve been looking for a place to put it in my 2015 Taco and I have the bird-dog mount already too!

    Thanks for the idea.
