And numerous people have zero issues. My point is that you can't take what is stated in a forum as true for what you will experience with a purchase, as the majority of threads are started because people are looking for help (or what tires will fit in the cast of TW). How many threads are titled "hey just enjoying my vehicle with zero issues".

I think unclemat's point still stands. I don't remember this many vocalized problems with any past Tacoma generation. I guess internet just didn't exist until 2016

Well I can't comment on past Tacomas as this is my first one. My point wasn't that there are no issues with the 2016+ models, it was just that forums tend to be biased towards negatives about a product instead of positives.

I wouldn't buy one again. I've had a ton of problems with my 2017. It has been an awful vehicle and Consumer Reports is right on the money from my experience.

I'm waiting this one out to see if these things get worse. I want one but my Corolla does fine, plus you can't get 40 mpg in a truck.

Not true. This forum is a Taco fan club and there are many more positive posts than negative. But, I've been following other vehicle forums, and they do not have near as many posts with problems that affect many owners. The problems are real. Even the local Toyota sales people acknowledge these problems when I talk to them and they try to steer me to an MT, and an extended warranty. Hopefully, if people keep complaining Toyota will start listening.

MTs for all trim levels, a quiet diff and no mandatory GoPro mount. I'll sign up today.

    Hardcore off road floor mats!
'16 SR MT 4 banger 4x4 ZERO issues, love it greatly been right at a year and 15k miles.

If i had to do it over, I'd have put a new engine in my Ranger and kept going. But I really wanted the Tacoma. Again, zero issues and love it.

After 12,000 miles, I have to admit that if I could go back in time I wouldn't buy mine again either. I'd try something else. The older Tacomas are better. Not that it is horrible, it's OK. But for the price, it just isn't that good. I have had the dealer try to fix the wind noise a couple of times. He has the doors adjusted so tight you have to slam the doors, and it still makes wind noise. I have never learned to like the automatic tranny and it's erratic shifting. Perhaps if I had bought a manual I'd be happier. The seats don't adjust to a comfortable position for me. Manual adjustable seats for a vehicle in this price range is ridiculous. The gas milage did get a little better with more miles, but it still below what I would expect. But it does have a Go Pro mount. Now if I only had (or wanted) a Go Pro.
