    The Happy Hemorrhoid, USS Hermitage LSD-34. And now I am the CO of my own LSD, Large Steel Desk :rofl:Of all the boats\ships I was on the tincan Navy was the best IMO. USS Robison DDG-12. Loved the tin can fleet!

    Damn I remember the Bellau Wood walking down the down the pier in San Diego (32nd St.) she was on the right. And freaking huge. What an impression she made on me!

    I was in Bremerton when they made the movie and think Bob was too. Hogs, the rock in Perl and bury them in a coal filled pit on the beach stuffed with pineapple and local herbs. Left the locals to do that shot a 300 pound boar with a single shot HR 20 ga. slug between the jungle and sugar cane field. The local growers didn't like the rooting they did with the fields. Local herbs not sure what they all were but it was the 70's Bro.

    I looked at that one also love the handle.. Have had the Lansky guides and sharpeners since the 70's with different holes in the guides for different angles. I like it but do a fair amount of woodworking and sharpening of hand planes. I use a small plate of sheet glass with lapping compound anymore. The angle is the hard part but just like a steel you get used to it. Beautiful blade. You are not helping me here... :D I am using a Chief knife more and more but use a 5" boning knife more times than not. But if that was in the rack I would just have to use it. Damn that is gorgeous.

    I don't have to justify my purchases to anyone either. But have to admit that I really miss having a good woman around to justify it too. According to my sisters, mother, aunts and grandmother I never did have a "good" woman to explain it too. And in the end they were correct, but she was my wife for a quarter century. I will find that good woman yet, many on here have and give me hope. My 2 cents and worth what you paid for it :D

    Well join the club sadly most of the good women are taken or they out weigh me in this area.. Sharp instruments and prescription meds yep what could go wrong :} Seriously I have been meaning to go over and drop off two axes I picked up to have them properly sharpened they are very old and were abused before I got them . I straightened them out to the best of my ability but I am not that good and do not have the experience with axes to do it right . One is just a camp axe approx 60 years old the other is about 50 years old broad hewing axe. So I might take them over there tomorrow and hold a few of those Shun's see what happens:}

    I have done sillier things lol I just thank the technology gods there were no cell phone cameras when I was younger lol :}

    I really like the wrangler mts with kevlar sidewalls. I have been going with e rated but may try c this time. I always worry about cutting the sidewalls on the trails I run. I was reading Matt's review of the wrangler authority, I might look into that.

    Oh ,
    Sorry I can't offer comment I do not do trails other then fire roads, I do not want to risk damaging my only mode of transportation besides I just got the title at the beginning of the year so lol . Besides here it would be friggin mud pits or such or drive several hours to go trailing. I saw two older models today for sale just not really in the market for another small truck .

    I think when you reach a certain age that we are all are "broke" in one way or another. I can live with that...

    Have not read the reviews that Matt posted but maybe should. Depends on where you go IMO and you often take your rig in somewhat similar terrain as mine. Although I use mine as a daily driver and you do not anymore, congrats on that!

    Canadian Shelf is unforgiving, as are sidewalls that prevent damage from it. It is that damn comprise again.. Big fan of Michelin because I have done a lot of work for them and they have come a long ways. C vs. E depends on the a lot of factors, and the manufacture of the tire. And your primary vs. secondary use. You know all of that Andy go with your instincts they are more than likely spot on.

    Spotter? Be damned if I will take anyone into my prime hunting areas! Yeah I know be safe and I do let people know where I am headed in Lake and Cook Counties which are larger than then all of all NJ. And with no cell phone reception. If I get screwed up it will cost me about $10K for S&R. Have no problems with what I run and C works well and has for years.

    My 2 cents anyhow but you better have some decent recover gear. Have needed and used it. Decent come along, straps and cables, screw the winch unless your running with others and want to be the hero and pull the others out. When your by yourself you usually don't want to go deeper into that shit. IME anyhow.
