I have a 2009 DCLB SR5 Sport and it has a spacer lift installed now on the front with blocks on the rear. It sits a little lower in the front and it doesnt bother me bad but ive been wanting to do it right ever since i got the truck. All this was done by the PO. the spacers look to be about 2 inches in the front and 2 inches in the rear so im guessing its a 2 inch lift but i dont know for sure. Im wanting to buy some new struts that lift it but i want to get as much lift as possible without messing up my cv's. I will buy ucas for a correct alignment if i have to as well. All these lifts confuse me because they arent true 3 inch lifts to my understanding so can anyone give me some insight and recommendations for what i need to get?

The only way you will get a lot of lift without high cv angles is to do a DB lift. The 4.5" RCV lift looked pretty good, or go real high with a 6". There is no way to do full 3" lift without The stock cv boot fins rubbing on each other.

    Or get a prerunner...

The only reason i dont want to go that big is because theres just something about cutting the crossmember that i cant accept right now. i might end up changing my mind down the road but for now i guess ill settle with the 2.5 inch but i want a really good one that will give me the most for my money. Ive been looking at the bilstein 5100s and the ome but i know theres more options i havent looked into. For 2.5 inches of lift. What would be the best?

Ok ive seen some stuff about them too. What i understand is they still give a lift of only 2.5 inches but the travel is alot greater than the struts. Is that right? The long travel kits are coilovers too right?

If you get adjustable coilovers, you can set them at any ride height. Even over 3" but it's not reccomended.

LT usually gives 3-4" of lift. The +2 that you see is the width.

Nvm. I was thinking about the bigger lifts. So how does a LT kit give it that much more lift?

Yeah 3 inches should be 3 inches but that doesnt seem to be the case for some of the lifts ive seen online. Ive heard of people putting 3/8 spacers above the bilsteins but would that be too much for the cv's?

Coil overs are adjustable from 1-3.5". LT kits use the same lift type coils but also include new lower control arms and you must also purchase modified tundra cvs so you get more travel and wider stance. These kits are pretty expensive.

Most lifts say 2.5". You can go higher but cvs rubber can rub and fail. Best option is so 2.5" lift and add a small body lift if you need more height.

I'm going with the OME bp51 kit with all Pro expedition rear leafs.

If you are considering LT, def check out the prices. To do the front is about 5k with everything new. You don't have to do the rear, but your rear will likely feel stiffer compared to a 2+ front. At the same time though, LT for most is the end game unless you want SAS.

I don't think Bilstein recommends any top spacers. Besides ones they supply.

Yeah i knew the LT kits were pricey but not that much. Ill just stick with a 2.5 for now. So the bilsteins come with top spacers? If so are they used to make up the 2.5" total or to add to the 2.5"? How do the 5100 and 887 compare?

Your title says "best" so why don't you go for adjustable mid travel coilovers and you can set the ride height wherever you want. Kings, Icons, ADS or Fox. But for full 3" of lift, either using spacers or coilovers, you will most likely need aftermarket UCAs to get proper alignment.

I will look into the mid travel kits then. I just read about the boot slode mod and it says it will still wear just differently at a full 3 inches so i guess ill just wait and see how close the fins are after i decide what to get. I see where that is useful but it also seems like a fine line where the wear increases on the cv's and where its not a problem so ill just play it safe. Im deffinatly interested in the mid travel though. I may just get some slightly lower blocks for the rear if it still doesnt level it out to my liking but heres some pics of my current setup just to show what im working with. Btw are my rear leafs stock?
