    You only need to do an alignment after working on suspension components. Adding weight does not affect alignment much at all. I installed heavy rock sliders and skid plate after I had done the alignment with suspension install. Haven't had any problems.

    I haven't brought my truck in yet to have it adjusted because I'm not quite sure what to have done. I did a quick measurement between the top of the rim and the wheel well and the right side was about .5" higher than the left side. I also checked with a leveler and it was spot on. I guess it's not an actual lean I'm feeling. What I am feeling is the front right side of the suspension feeling softer than the left. Do I possibly have a bad shock on the front right? I have compression set to zero on the front and the back and the rebound set to half way on the rear and a bit over that on the front. Any ideas?

    You don't have to be at the same settings from side to side. Adjust the one that feels softer see if it makes a difference.

    Yeah, I saw people had different preload between the right and left sides which makes sense. I'm going to remeasure with more precision to see where everything is at because it sounds like I need to add a bit of preload or a spacer to stiffen up the right side. I worry adding 2mm of preload will make the right side ride higher than the left side.

    I would just turn the compression up on the right side first. My truck is somewhat the opposite of yours. Felt softer on the left side. I turned the comp up 1 bar higher than the right feels about equal now.

    When you install the reservoirs, you can twist them and slide them back and forth in the clamps before tightening to find the optimal spot to avoid any rubbing- I don't have any "kinks" in the lines at all. Once the reservoirs are clamped, nothing really moves in that area besides the vertical movement of the control arms, so that is really the only concern.

    Agree, if you see my latest edit to the initial post, the BajaKits UCA's that I'm using aligned the truck perfectly. No need for LCA's unless going mid-travel setup.

    Tell Firestone to first move the LCA cams so that the LCA's extend outward away from the truck to get the Camber to 0deg, then adjust the toe to ~0deg then Caster should fall out depending on which UCA's you have. Using this method my final specs came out nicely:



    Of course I'm the tire guy so I'm always looking for perfect Camber/Toe to ensure proper tire wear :)

    I got about 0.75" lift from the
    $77 D29XL Leaf Spring
    D29XL. Went from 23.75 to 24.5 wheel center to flare (with camper shell, etc).

    The rear BP-51's are 625mm extended versus the stock TRD Off-Road OE Bilstiens at ~583mm, so the BP-51's are definitely longer. In fact I found that the rear brake lines need to be longer with this kit at full droop to avoid a tight bend in the lines (not sure they would actually stretch), or you can simply un-bolt the rear brake line bracket and add a small spacer as I did (any most installers do) to alleviate any issues.

    Basically you are correct, the shocks are longer, and plenty strong enough to limit the down travel as with most leaf sprung suspensions.

    I am getting ready to pull my bp51s at a mod day coming up (there is a spring compressor that I believe will work with the arb gear) they are currently at the factory set 20mm preload and I plan to adjust them down to 10-12mm, thanks to your reports on height gain/loss. Trying to get it right the first time. I have no extra weight up front except an aluminum ifs skid. Looks like you adjusted them beyond the factory settings (+6mm/+1mm)?, is this to make up the extra height you gained in the rear from the
    $77 D29XL Leaf Spring
    D29XL? Thanks for doing the leg work.

    No, the shocks have to be off the vehicle to make adjustments.

    Yes and no. With king or Icon you would have to pull them to replace the spring (that would be even more money) if you wanted to add a plate bumper and winch. Kings also recommends adjusting the shocks while off the truck as well.

    I have had conniver over b4, never taken them off to adjust them. Curious why they recommend taking them off to adjust them?
