I bought my oldest daughter a new Jetta in 06 and now her husband is still driving it daily with the only issue ever being a blown seal. That car is a warrior because they just drive it without EVER maintaining it. Drives me crazy.

Tell me about it, her Jetta has 10K oil change intervals and she goes well beyond and sometimes close to double, she still also has the original Serpentine Belt and I have been bitching at her forever to get it changed as its WAY overdue!

Same here, man. Killing the "car guy" in me to see them just drive it without ever doing anything to it. But, they do and it keeps going. They literally had some seal blow on it from not lubing it and that is the only thing. I would not hesitate to buy a VW again if I ever had a need for one.

I know we are getting way off topic here but my first brand new car was a 1988 Golf, drove that car everywhere and put over 200K on it, had it till 99 or 2000 when it got totaled in a hit and run, for a run of the mill hatchback it was a helluva good car.

I would buy mine again in a second. First new vehicle I have ever bought for myself. First car payment I have had in over 15 years. Have had my TRD Sport 6MT DCSB for almost a year now and have never had any regrets about purchasing. Wish I had added the rack, nerfs, wheels and tires when I bought it. So I guess my only regret is that I had spent more money. Truck has been perfect and serves my purposes well.

One year and 10k miles. Had the TSB for the trans done. Still like my Taco a lot. No regrets here.

The recalls are good really. It shows Toyota is nutting up to fix the problem. Go look at the graph on carcomplaints.com

I haven't had any issues with my 17' OR but I still have less than a thousand miles on the truck. But in my opinion, if you read this website it can scare you a little bit because it's such a large collection of people complaining/expressing concern for issues with their trucks. I just try to keep in mind that there are tons of people out there who are not on this website who love there trucks and have no issues.

    A few minor things...
2016 TRD Sport with 22.5k miles on it.

Did all of the TSB recommendations

Did all of the DIY/Cheap mods

    I love this truck.

The most vocal people are always the ones that are pissed and unhappy.

Every car manufacturer has it's issues. The recall doesn't effect everyone they are recalling, they are just covering themselves. I was under the recall and there are no issues with my truck.

We won't have ANY of that here if it's not warm & fuzzy truth.

And let's not forget the guy who broke the news of the stop sale regarding the rear diff.

He was called "troll", told he had "fake news" & was "making it up".

Blind trust is exactly what that is.

Gen 2s are fugly imo, and came with their fair share of problems if I understand correctly.

My 2017 is an obvious lemon. I am in the process with Toyota as we speak to get the truck replaced. If Toyota buys it back I will not gamble by replacing it with another 3rd gen. If Toyota opts to replace it, so be it. I will drive it for 2 years and get rid of it.

I'd buy mine again ez. Granted, I specifically wanted a midsize truck with 3 pedals that didn't look like it was styled by someone in the early 90s, so Third Gen Taco was pretty much the only option for me. I will say that if you want some POWAAAAAAAH it may not be the best for you. I also have a Hyperstrada and an MR2, so I can deal with the truck being a little slow.

And late model 2nd gens cost just as much as I paid for my new Gen 3- another factor in my decision.

    Noice.

What year is ur Mr.2? Turbo or supercharged?

Not a huge bike fan but Ducati/Lamborghini/Audi/VW (ok enough) make some cool ones.

Feel free to share some pics of the bike & MR.

(Sorry for the thread jake OP)

It's an '04 MR-S. Naturally aspirated for now, until I get around to turning it into a racecar, then I'll probably go supercharger. The bike on the right is mine. These pictures suck, cause I'm at work, but you get the idea.

Nice nice. My experience is only with 1st & 2nd gen tho the 3rd gen (mrii) kept that low polar moment of inertia fun. :)
