Battery Wiring Replacement/Upgrade

I was trying to avoid making a new thread about something I thought would have a straightforward answer somewhere already. But I searched as thoroughly as I could and came up short of anything definitive.

I was thinking I would replace the battery wiring when I swap my battery to a Northstar 31M, since it's pretty badly corroded. I figured I might as well replace it with something marginally better, but at the very least I think I need to replace the terminal clamps.

So far the only place I've seen any pre-made harnesses to this end being sold is in a TW vendor's thread but based on the last several replies it seems like there are issues with quality of the product and service.

I've also looked at threads on making them, but I think making my own is a little out of my technical skillset at this moment, so I'm very hesitant to try.

So what's a typical route people go for this?

Also, idk if it matters, but I have a 170A alternator.

I did the BamaToy upgrade on my truck (27F) and helped out @the glen (31M). Kind of a shame Bama flaked out on making them. As I recall @ryanjboutin bought a kit around the same time but may not have installed it. Maybe you could buy Ryan's if he still has it...

I didn't read too much into what was going on, but it just seemed like it wasn't happening anymore, which is too bad since I haven't seen anything similar offered anywhere.

I just make my own cables using 1/0 welding cable that I get short pieces a few feet long .

Only cost is the lugs and heat shrink

swap out the terminals now and do the wiring later. I used one of these for the negative in place of what came with the Bama kit. If you re-use the stock cables, you will have to terminate one of them with a lug. That is the difficult part as those really want to be soldered, not just crimped. If you can get the lengths, you can also buy pre-made cables. I like marine grade but they're expensive. Another alternative is Del City.

I looked at their site but I only saw kits for dual batteries. Do you have to special order?
