Glen, have you checked out Skeggs (El Corte de Madera) in Woodside? My favorite place to ride. Started riding there in 92 (before @2015whitetaco & @cbechtold were born) since it was 15 minutes from my parents house. So much fun. If you haven't been there, grab a trail map and talk to a local. Highlight the singletracks and fireroads different colors. Otherwise you'll descend Fireroads (waste of elevation at that place) and ascend single tracks. Goal is obviously the opposite. Shaded climbing on fireroads and sandy tacky soil on the singletracks. Manzanita Trail and Giant Salamander are recommended. Perfect place IMO for a cross country 29er.
Or a 1990 26" tire Diamondback 21" frame bike with Brahma bars, thumb shifters, and Biopace rings for a 17 year old lanky-ass mofo.

I go there, as well. Chris is a really nice guy. I've had them do some maintenance on my bike. Had him build me some wheels for my road bike. Small, independent bike shops are expensive. But their customer service is going to be better, and they usually won't BS you. But, I suppose you could use that same explanation for any company.

Man, my bedroom gets hot AF when it's warm a few days in a row. New solution is cold humidifier behind the fan. Just gotta catch the condensation under the fan. I had the fog blowin in on my nuts all night. It's incredible :D

Rain, rain, rain, rain, more rain. Then boom. 90 degree heat. WTF? Used the portable AC two nights running, now. House is not centrally air conditioned.

I always had mountain bikes until a few years ago I got a roadie. I love it. You can do 50 miles in a few hours and burn a shitload of calories. I would do flat rides at 15-18 mph. Good stuff. Then I moved to the bay area so bike was stolen. Insurance claim, new bike, that one stolen too.

So if you don't hit trails get a roadie. Whatever you get, lock it and watch it.

Put a box fan in the screen door and open a window with a fan in it at the opposite side of the house at night. Been doing it for yrs.

Or do what I did. Spend $6000 on a toolbox that comes with a swamp cooler. This baby blows 75F on a 100+ day.

and obligatory picture of said toolbox. Really need to clean her...

There's a bar in Santa Rosa across from Annadel, it's also a bike shop.

Also it's got Pliny on tap :spy:

Love that place. Eroded quite a bit when I was out there last month. Hopefully drier now!
