Definitely. I didn't expect to have a fridge so soon and I bet you didn't either. We're ready though with cold beer now!

I've been focusing on recovery and camp related projects the past several weeks and forgot all about a CB for jambo till I met up with you last weekend

 

Nope, I didn't.

I have a feeling I have forgotten something more than likely and will remember it later tonight when I am packing.

 

USPS just dropped off my goodies... I can get to work between the storms since I'm caught up on my day job. I would be doing this yesterday but apparently "one day shipping" on Amazon really means two. Oh well.

 

If it was supposed to be one day shipping and you did not get it in a day. Get on Amazon chat and tell them. Works wonders man.

 

I'll have to do that. Looks like I screwed up anyhow and got the wrong antenna mount and won't be able to use the firestik anyway. Oh well, I'll swing by the truck stop later to see if I can find something that might work otherwise I'll be operating in hand-held mode this weekend. I went ahead and ran the coax through the cab and to the rear corner while I had a window without rain. Man I hope I get this going...



You're bringing your SWR meter right? I think it was you that said that in one of the threads (DFW or Jambo). If you do bring it and I can borrow it, I'll hook you up!

 

Yea, I know a couple people were needing one, so was going to bring one just in case.

I know a lot of people are bringing their cameras and such, but if you want some cool shots I'll have my kit with me as well just let me know.

Won a CBI bumper tonight.... so may be getting a new rear bumper here in a bit hopefully.

 

Where'd you win it? Seems like a bonkers thing to win! Front and read bumpers are on my hit list, but I know deep inside that sliders and full skids are more important and should be higher on the list. I think I've satisfied the rear-HC-with-swingout monster for the time being with a Wilco Hitchgate Solo.

 

Won it at the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree, it's a gift card for $1100 towards the purchase of a Front Bumper from CBI, so may see if I can use it towards a rear instead since I have a front already. If not I'll buy a front and then sell it, or sell the GC somehow.

 

Wow! That's pretty cool. Here's to hoping they'll let you swap to a rear!

Just ran my truck through the car wash. With the RTT / camp lights / shovel / cb antenna on. It's the same place my wife and I have gone for a few years, most of the kids know us, so the kid running the shop today, Emerson, comes out to chat.

I tell him, "Hey - I'm running it through like this, think its too tall?"

He says "Awesome! It'll be great! I'll get some twine and we'll pull the antenna over a bit and it'll be great!"

Everything Emerson says is with an exclamation point and is great. It's great!

Well, the twine didn't hold and the antenna whipped up about 4' into the car wash. From there it kept hitting the overhead stuff, but it didn't break and the carwash didn't break so Emerson and I feel pretty confident that this'll be the new normal. !.
