Any plumbers here?? I have a problem!! (pics)

Got home this afternoon and realized that water was seeping on the outside of my house. Upon further investigation I found this under my sink.





Yeah, it's a damn mess under there. I did some research and it seems like the vent tube isn't properly lined up. There is no telling how long it has been like this. The drain pipe from that "T" fitting down is stopped up too. Will I have to run a whole new vent pipe or can I just plug or seal it with some putty. Maybe something that will harden??

Also, the wood and sheetrock around the leak is all wet, moldy, and rotten. Will all of that have to be replaced or can I just let it dry out??? Any help would be great. I can't use my kitchen sink til this is fixed!!!

you are gonna need to cut the old rotten drywall out and replace it..........aint gonna get rid of the mold there. you'll probably need to install a new vent pipe and make sure its sealed good, and put a blower heater or fan down there to start drying all that stuff out.

 

un stop the drain is the first step!!! run a 25foot snake down the line then wrap duck tape around vent line then call a plumber to fix for good if the main line is clear there will be no water in the vent good luck

 

Does your house have a crawl space? If so it would be in your best interest to replace the cast and black iron pipe you have now with schedule 40 PVC. You need to start by cutting out the existing drain pipe you have know under the sink, in the wall, and under the house. You don't have to cut it all out under the house just within a foot or so from where it comes out of the floor and turns to catch the main drain line. You can leave the vent pipe you have know as long as it isn't clogged. You would need to cut about 6 inches or so off of it to give yourself room to reconnect. Once you have it all cut out you will need:

1 - 2" sanitary tee
1 - 2" combination or a (2" wye and stret 45) which makes a combo
1 - 2" cleanout to attach to the combo
5' stick of 2" pipe
1 - can of pvc cement
2 - 2" fernco couplings to connect to the 2" vent and drain pipe to pvc

If you don't have any knowledge in this area you may just want to call a plumber. Sorry I don't live any closer!
