Hi folks, I suppose it's proper to introduce myself as being a new forum member and such.

Lets start with some Taco stuff? Enter, my new 2017 DCLB TRD OffRoad in Quicksand (damn I love this color).

I come from a long history of all things with an engine, and I am an ASE Certified Technician, with just a few more to go before Master Technician Recognition (woohoo! -_- stupid automatic transmission test).

Hit the dirt running about 8 years ago in a Subaru, and it's been a downhill spiral since then. I can't lie, I'm a Subaru junkie at heart. 2 Imprezas, an Outback, 2 Foresters, and my wife's new Outback have truly given me some faith in them, and I don't ever plan on not owning one. They have taken me places that a car should never have gone, and I love the look on Jeep and truck people's faces at the top of a trail when they see a Subaru pull up and ask "How'd you get up here?".

However, having previously owned trucks, not having a bed to throw shit in has been less than convenient. My roof racks work great and all, but I don't enjoy loading a sheet of plywood by myself.

Aside from that, my current forester has 9" of GC, but even after ripping the bumpers off my approach and departure angles are less than great, and because of the small wheel wells I've been super limited to my a/t tire selection. This plus a suspension design that really isn't intended to do much articulation has lead me to seek out a new trail romper vehicle.

So, what's a guy to do? Move over to the most practical, and most capable thing he can find. Having a previous history with Toyota it only made sense to come back. Don't get me wrong, My Subaru to Toyota ratio at home is still 2:1, and it's gonna stay that way, but I'm happy to be here, and so far love the new Taco. I Haven't had the chance to put her through the paces yet, but hope to have some free time in the next coming weekends to hopefully hit some of the trails in Big Bear area. I can't imagine anything less than excellence.
