    True but it also says

    Owner Letter Mailing Date
Toyota will begin to notify owners in mid-June 2017.
Toyota makes significant effort to obtain current customer name and address information from each state through industry resources when mailing owner letters. In the event your dealership receives a notice for a vehicle that was sold prior to the Safety Recall announcement, it is the dealership’s responsibility to forward the owner letter to the customer who purchased the vehicle.
Please note that only owners of the covered vehicles will be notified. If you are contacted by an owner who has not yet received a notification, please verify eligibility by confirming through TIS prior to performing repairs. Dealers should perform the repair as outlined in the Technical Instructions found on TIS.

Also trucks taken in for recent service were held because they dealers knew of the recall. The recall is in effect now, only notices don't go out until June

I was on the Toyota.com web that I registered my Tacoma at. I went to Information at your Service, that's where I pulled up the recall from putting vin # in safety recall search. It pulled up 4 pages of the rear differential leak recall. Which we might be looking on different websites. But maybe Toyota will send letters out soon, especially if the rear differential is leaking.

It is funny, they are covering the period Mid-August 2015 – late March 2017 which is when the 3rd gens started production until this past march. Pretty much the entire production life cycle.

What they meant to say, is we hope only 1% is affected.

Yep if Toyota has made 230,000 3rd gens and saved 5 bucks on each one, that's 1.15 million bucks in costs savings to Toyota and the shareholders love that.

Then why arent the Dealers telling the non notified owners (at the time) to be expecting a recall notice in June with instructions in June detailing the procedures of the recall? If you bring the car in prematurely and you demand they address the rear diff now and we are confiscating your truck prematurely before the parts and infos get there F that,I will see you in June , legally they have no right to take your truck since you haven't received any notice yet. The Hold (TBD) means when you bring the truck for the scheduled recall inspection, they can Hold it not in May,

I'm no millennial. I wasn't making the comparison others were in one of the rear diff recall threads. Several folks were yucking it up claiming "yeah it's just like the Harley at least if it's leaking you know it had fluid in it".... pffft

There are no signs of leakage on mine, at 8k miles. Would you take it in, or wait for the 10k service?
