What have you done to the back seats of your first gen extended cab to keep your tools and emergency supplies organized? I am looking at getting a locking tool box for the bed eventually but for now I want to figure out something cheap and easy. I don't want a crate or anything in my bed because it can be easily stolen and I don't want things such as jumper cables and tie downs and chains etc just sitting on the floor of my cab. Link me some pics of what you guys have come up with!

    Brandon,

Unfortunately, I don't have any good ideas for you, but you bring up a very good point.

    Take it easy,
    Paul

Thanks. I was thinking of building some sort of removable box that fit on the seat behind the driver so that I still have a third seat if I need it and then if I really need a 4th passenger I can move the box into the bed. I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone had some creative ideas that they used in their trucks before I decide to do anything....I might just have to open up my wallet and buy a locking toolbox

I try to keep everything in bags so its at least not all just strewn about individually in the back seat. I have a few army surplus bags I use for my tools, blankets, recovery straps/air pump, first aid, etc.

Don't overthink it! Just get a milk crate or plastic storage bin and throw it behind the seats.

Yeah honestly that's the easiest I just like overcomplicating things because I'm always looking for a little project for my truck lmao

Full take advantage of the jump seat storage. I had jumper cables and the jack in the one, the other one held a drill/angle grinder/ and air up supplies. They are surprisingly large. I have seen @HBtaco02 build larger ones, something I plan to do one day since I don't ever need the seats and no adult can sit in it comfortably anyway.

For in the cab I use all storage I can, the pockets in the seats, the pockets in the extra cab side panels, etc. I also have a tool box that lets me carry a fuck ton more.

Oh so you took the flip down seats out and just extended the compartments higher and longer to fit more shit? That's not a bad idea

I didn't, he did. I do want to do the same though because it's an awesome idea.

    Check his build:

When I do mine, I'll probably sheet it with metal or something thinner, and build it taller. Maybe 2-3" higher than the side cubbies so it doesn't block the speakers too much.

Has anyone put some sort of liner or carpet in the bottom of the jump seat storage compartments? I have the whole floor covered in sound deadening material and I don't want to just throw a bunch of stuff on top of it.

My truck has carpet in the cubbies from the factory.

Mine was trashed when I got it. I'm putting a vinyl floor in but it doesn't come with a new liner for the compartment.
