I think it's likely the GPU, and I'm not so certain that it will be easy to fix

 

gpu not easy to fix, they are usually attached to the baseboard for laptops, or a board attached to the baseboard if a gamer laptop. but are you sure its the gpu? those going bad are rare. memory being used by the gpu can go bad, but have not heard of a lot of gpus that are not doa going bad later down the road.

 

I'm not certain of anything but it's not just the backlight, and as far as I can tell it still powers on and everything else works. I've yet to test plugging in an external display to see if that works. Anyway, didn't come looking for IT support, just needed to express my frustration.

 

Seriously though, respect for doing that kind of gig and not being a pussy.

Not enough money in the world for me to do that kind of thing. Every time I think about falling off a ladder or some stupid ass way to die, I'm always like.. well, this is how I'll die, spraying moss off of some assholes chimney so he can have a wine party with a bunch of middle aged white people in Sperry's, and they won't judge him or think his house is ghetto looking.

Then I say, fuck ladders! If I can't reach it on an A frame then I ain't reachin' it.
