Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
OP ... I have had 10 to 12 new Toyota trucks and my 2016 is one if the best.

Had many other vehicles too and the Ridgeline was the best "quality control" hauler ... but it was too car like for me.

Great post Pkolanko, yes, I like the new Raptor a lot, I still might get one eventually, but it would be too difficult to park here in west L.A. where I live and work. I love my 17' OR, just use the ect when necessary and it's all good.

You referring to the 3rd gen? You seem pretty emphatic in your opinion. Please tell us about your experience as a 3rd gen owner that caused you to reach that conclusion.

Right. I started off with japanese cars then went german but would go back to japanese cars in a heartbeat too. Real car guys respect platforms unless you're an entitled prick who's never had anything else other than P or F cars.

I'm curious as to how you sold your "used" raptor for more than you paid for it , is there a high demand for them in your neck of the woods ? Or ??...

    Welcome from another FNG!

I'm the new owner of a 17 TRD OR DCSB and I came from a 2011 RAM 1500 4x4. I enjoyed my time with the RAM and never had any issues with it. The only thing I felt it suffered from was resale value when compared to a Toyota. I got lucky and got a high trade in amount for mine, but definitely not the norm. I dont regret trading my RAM for the Toyota even though I only have 200miles into the TRD so far.

Like you, I miss the low end power (of the Hemi in my case), but I dont miss the avg mpg hit I was taking with the Hemi. Definitely need to wring the necks on these 3.5L V-6's to get the power out of them, but the power is there.

I also used to have an 89 4x4 Toyota pickup ext cab back in the day and beat the hell out of that truck. Got 225k out of her before selling it.

Air bags not deploying is a serious issue. That has plagued half the auto industry lately because of Takata. But what I am saying is that manufacturers do way more recalls now than they used to because it is way more cost effective to prevents problems after they find a few issues out there than to wait and get a class action, bad press or have it turn into a serious issue down the road.

The burning to the ground thing is new to me. I read the news, especially auto news, on a very regular basis and have been for a long time. Something tells me I would have heard about this if it an issue than affected more than 1 or 2 random cases out there.

I would be concerned about reliability if I am having this many problems so quickly into a new vehicle's life. Do you have warranty to cover you now? Of course. But I would be scared once that warranty is over if I had so many issues starting out with.

So when my rear diff locks up on the interstate and my vehicle spins out and is hit by another car head-on, my air bag will not go off.

    Sweet.

paid $40k for a 2012 raptor, sold in 2015 for $41 with 16k miles on it. Try and find one for less than $40k anywhere

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.

The takata airbag recall has actually killed people....multiple people lol. Shouldn't we rely on the past for future results? I have had a bunch of honda/acura cars and they all ran great with zero issues. My friend has a kia SUV with less than 10k miles and it already has problems... i'll go with past success. It doesn't lack in any areas. I think the Toyota engineers built this truck for long-term enjoyment and not just the first few month or years.
