Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
The saddest part is how hard people will argue that "Their truck is, in fact, the worst." Fuck. Sell it and leave the rest of us alone, right?

You think we should rely on the past for future results? Give bernie madoff a call. I am sure he can invest your money wisely. Or go ahead and keep betting on the Yankees to win titles every year. They have won the most in the past so I am sure they will win it all next year, right? And I already responded to the airbags issue.

The sticker on my raptor was $45500. I got it for $40100. This is a vehicle that dealers mark up 5k-10k. I put in a quote for the autotrader "buy your car" just being curious and it showed $41k guaranteed. I didn't believe it and I called the local dealer to confirm. Long story short, they cut me a check for $41k.

Well you see some of us would like Toyota to fix the problems and we would like to hold Toyota feet to the fire to make thigns right. if they do not want to help us they will hear our voices even if it is on public reviews and forums and phone calls to the head shed!

A car is not an investment. It depreciates immediately and is a mode of transportation. In 5 years we might laugh at all the worry about this tacoma, but we also might hate it still... we will see.

Your post is so refreshing. Thank you for sharing. I love my 16 Tacoma. Almost 50k miles later and I have nothing to complain about. Every day I am reminded that I made the right decision. I wish more folks would spend their time enjoying their vehicle and not making others feel bad for it.

Welcome to TW. Be careful on here...your wallet will feel lighter with the more time you are on here. :)

I will not mod my truck. I always buy a vehicle exactly the way I want it and enjoy it the way the manufacturer built it. I do a few cosmetic mods, but that's it.

I found a 2007 one owner with 22k miles about 700 miles away for $23k. So tempted to go grab it, but I need to be smart with purchases lol

Probably a good thing. I modded mine based on what I needed and was using my truck for. Each experience resulted in something (mostly damage) and that led to another mod...haha.

You nailed some of my same first impressions in your opening post, with regards to needing to get into the pedal for the acceleration, the initial burning smell, and a couple of other points. I'm at 1700 miles now (drive 36 miles to work and then back each day) and now that I'm learning the truck, and apparently it's learning me, I'm enjoying it more and more. I plan to baby it and maintain resale value as much as possible. Just sucks that I'll average 23-24k miles per year.

Great write up OP. This is my first Toyota and loving it. I wasn't planning on getting a truck when I was looking for a new vehicle but as soon as I saw the Tacoma kinda fell in Love with it. Didn't know how big of a fan base there was for the Tacoma. Didn't even know about TW until after I bought my truck. Sure it has its issues but a lot of new gen models do. I think it's really hit or miss when it comes to getting a new vehicle without issues. I have not had one issue with my truck, I average 20-21MPG and couldn't be happier. Yes I'm on the recall list but after inspecting my rear diff. I don't see much at all. Welcome to TW

No, not yet. The ride height and 4wd will make it run well in snow as long as I have quality snow tires on it.

I love my '17 Tacoma. At 5k miles I've had zero issues. I know some people have issues but that seems to be the exception and not the norm. 100% satisfied wth my purchase.
