Is there any particular reason you decided to stay at stock tire size, then go up to say 265/75/16? Congrats on the truck!

lol I really just want to bro out with the k02s. And I was told it was a 10hp increase. Not at the crank but at the wheels

Extremely. Adding weight to the wheels and to the adding weight to the ride are very different things. I get that the overall diameter of the tire doesn't change but I do recall in one of my engineering classes that adding weight to the wheels can completely change the feel of the ride. That was about 8 years ago so I don't remember much of what my professor had said. Like most people here that are all about increasing tire size I am not one of them. I am more concerned about the feel of the truck on the road. And for those who live in NYC know having a sluggish ride sucks when you're on the road with yellow cabs.

I get people feel some type of was about complaining about speed with a pickup and I'm happy with my ride right now just don't want a drastic change and was looking for some insight.

A lot of stuff, just ask and I'd be happy to tell you. Or we could wheeling/camping

It's adding unsprung weight that's the issue, so tires/wheels/suspension components/fixed axles etc. And your right, it makes a big difference. Surprising enough also effects shock valving considerably for offroad.

Honestly, it's my daily driver and I do 70+ miles per day, half country roads and half interstate. I didn't want to drastically change the ride or gas mileage but really wanted the look. I'm only at 300 miles but averaging 18.1 mpg. Also, have had very good experiences in rain and snow with the "thinner" tire.

I'd like to say I thought of all of this before I decided on the KO2s (and the size) but not even close. I agree, the Engineers out there always amaze me with their perspective.

Those look really good on your truck Gr8fl. I think when the truck needs tires I'm gonna go with them in a 275 70 16. They are a tad wider and taller, but more importantly they come in D load range and weigh less. Wish they made em in stock size or close to it in C range.

If you think it's helpful I can get my brother over this Saturday and we can do a test. While I would not call it well controlled or scientific, we can have the two of us, my wife and his girlfriend drive both cars. We'll use a one mile loop with 4 turns and two longer straight runs and basically test the feel of acceleration and turning. Granted, his is the Limited with Michelins. Afterwards we can compare opinions and I can come back with those impressions. If you can think of something that would work better I'm open to ideas, just remember I have to keep two women interested and engaged in an activity that I am sure they are going to complain about, regardless of how easy.

Thanks 1bad2k, that extra bit of tall and wide would look great. If my commute ever shortens I would absolutely go bigger.

I am contemplating to go 285/70R16 Nitto Trail Grappler or 265/75R16 of same type. Do you think they will fit without spacer or leveling kit?

That would be very helpful and informative. Only reason I even brought up the topic was because you got the ko2s in the stock size which is very rare as far as I have seen. Which was what I was looking to do. I really dislike that in our wheel size there only is load e. But in the same size for the 17s there is a load c which is a bit lighter. I really appreciate your help. I know there might be a difference, I was just courious to know if it is a drastic difference as opposed to a slight difference. I really like the way the truck rides with the wranglers but I love the way it looks with the more agressive ko2s. Plus I'm sure they are way better in the snow. I'm in no way a hard core off-roader but I'm scouting a few trails to go ride with my cousin with his ram. Also I will be hitting a few Long Island beaches that permit driving with a paid pass this summer.

No worries and happy to help. Already called my brother and we're going to get to it this weekend. The weight calculation is likely skewed a bit with the weight of the 17" Limited rims and the 17" Michelins, e.g. not just 10lbs vs. what I'm running. With that said it should at least give us perspective, be back on this by Sunday. I agree (1) I've not seen one other person on this forum run the KO2s in stock size, and (2) experience with these tires in the snow on 3 other trucks has been excellent.

And for the record, this truck should be called #mallcrawlersupreme for the amount of time it will see off road...

From what I have read, the 265s should fit, 285s will rub.

Thanks for the reply. We are working with Jimmy Voigt. Got confirmation Friday the 4Runner is in production and scheduled for delivery mid June. Not holding our breathe on that delivery date just yet as we first were told mid July. Either way we are excited and the parts keep piling up in the garage.

The wife needs a bigger vehicle so we're thinking about a 4runner...I am feeling cement on that as well.

Cement T4R Pro's are harder to get then a STD free woman at the Mustang Ranch. I have been looking off and on for a few months and there are very few listed. When they are they are going within a day or already sold. Assuming they are making less 4R Pro's then Taco Pro's.
