I was at a dealer in New Orleans today window shopping and saw this on the 2017 Tacomas. (May have been on everything). It was on the separate ticket that listed dealer add-ons.

Anybody seen it before? What the heck is it?

    The dealer adding profit.

    Market Adjustment is the term.

@MonkeyProof posted a window sticker off of a Raptor and it had a $25k market adjustment IIRC. Something like $99k sticker price for a Raptor, and it wasn't even a SuperCrew. :bananadead:

Interesting, and with car sales falling off. I assume Tacoma sales are still strong. Wait a month or two and see if the additional markup goes away.

So just a "pure profit" number tacked on top of all the other numbers that have profit already built into them - so that they can knock 1500 off and claim "I'm only making $500 on this deal!"?

    Such shenanigans -

    lol

There are better deals out of state. I tried dealers all over southeast Louisiana and the best price I could get was $34k for an SR5. I'm not saying you can't get them for less, but I couldn't. Once I decided I wanted a manual, I had to shop out of state to find one. That's when I realized you could get a much better deal. Ended up getting an Off Road for $1500 less than my lowest quote for the SR5 in our state.

This is the average markup for a Raptor at any SoCal dealer, even with a $25,000 markup cant keep them on the showroom floor..

I went to Price Leblanc to look at TRD sports. The listed price was 35k albeit it had those add-ons that I did not care for. Sterling McCall in Houston gave me an email quote of $31,888 for a TRD sport w/ just the tow package which is what I want.

Crazy. All the TRD's I saw at Price Leblanc were almost $38k. They were the ones that gave me the "low price" of $34k for the SR5.
This was from the email they sent me:

I did get an awesome deal from them on a 2017 Highlander XLE though.

If you are trading one in, just tack a $2,000 market charge onto your trade in value.

You could buy a Tacoma and tundra, and mod them both for that 92k.

I told the salesman that I wasn't interested in that skinny sticker.

I think it was a $2300.00 markup...Market value they called it. LOL!
