Well... Sure didn't plan on spending the evening washing my truck with 100% chance of rain tonight, tomorrow, and Friday.... But that's what life handed me.

Was behind a garbage packer on the interstate while ago when it blew a "wet line" and shot about 50 gallons of hydraulic fluid all over me and the guy on a Harley that was in the lane next to me. I'm pretty well rust proofed for the time being. Oil literally dripping off my truck. Waste Management offered to have my truck cleaned and detailed....next week. I'll do it and send them a bill.

Note to self; when you get hosed down with oil, do NOT turn on windshield wipers.

The guy on the bike must have been on his way to the gay bar..... He had on all new looking black leather head to toe. It actually looked new with a good coat of oil. He was NOT happy. I wasn't pleased, but nothing good would come from getting too upset. Soaked it with dawn dish soap and started washing. Car wash bay full of foam when I left. Wasn't as much work as I thought it would be.

Sorry about that shit luck man!

BTW, dish soap might have cut all, if any, wax off your paint. At least that what the internet tells me to use to wash before I'd clay and then seal/wax

Dawn is what they use to clean birds that get oiled down in oil spills. It's pretty gentle but breaks down oil really well. Time to wax the truck anyway.

Truck looks pretty clean. Still have oil dripping from underneath. The weather people say as much as 3" of rain in the next 2 days. Hopefully that'll wash off the rest.

I watched a couple good videos that basically made paint look fresh when tired and dingy.

Having a pressure washer with a detergent jug attachment thing is a huge help here

    It was:
    Spray with water
Spray with dish soap, let sit a bit
    Rinse
Spray/hand wash with regular car soap
    Rinse/dry
    Clay bar
    Spray with car soap
    Rinse/dry
    Wax/seal

Now I just need a garage to do all that in haha!

Rain moved in in the early AM hours. I have an oil slick on my driveway. Body seems clean, but there's still oil dripping from underneath. Needs a mud bath. Had a voice mail on my office phone this morning from Waste Management. They are willing to foot the bill for a complete cleaning and detailing at any time of my choosing. I'll probably set that up for later next week. I'm not so concerned with the exterior, but this may be a good chance to get the interior professionally cleaned. Sorta needs it after 2-1/2 years.
