I'm in the same situation. Just going to go with it... Hope they say it's safe to drive on Monday. If not, I figure I'm saving miles on my truck.

Don't wait for a notice. Call the dealer and they should get you in. I called, had an appt 2 days later, got it checked (no leak) and retorqued, done. Easy.

I was told if I drive it off the lot after they had looked at it and I was in the system that the repair that needed to be performed wouldn't be covered under warranty/recall which made absolutely no sence to me. So basically I would be responsible for paying for it.

Just got official word from clovis toyota that my rear differential is leaking. Bad one too. And it will have to stay until the repair kit comes in. Disappointed overall about it.

My diff wasn't leaking and just needed to be torqued to spec, but I'm taking no chances. 4.88 Nitro pumpkin swap coming soon. I mean, they are basically forcing me to do this. It's like, my hands are tied and stuff.

    And stuff.

I find it difficult to believe a dealership can confiscate someones vehicle without the owner first saying ok to it. I realize it's probably the safer thing to do for the owner but are they really being told they can't have their property by these dealerships? Just curious what the actual conversation has been.

Most ppl don't own their own vehicles, they either lease or finance, until your name is on the title, it can be taken form you by the title owner. This is at least one reason I don't like debt on my chit.

All fluid leaks are under warranty for 3/36 and the drivetrain leaks are covered for up to 60k miles last time I checked, the dealers are inspecting for leaks during the 2yr free maintenance.

That's assuming these people are all (or mostly) financed through TFS - which I'm guessing is not the case.
