    After your ball valve incident... You can't poke fun at anyone for at least another 24 hours.

    Speaking of.. i tried to leave this morning and the front door wouldn't open. Turns out they put the door handle on with the plunger (probably not technical term) in the door latch... Had to go out the slider. :rofl:

    How long have you lived there and just now noticed this?

    The Strike is that nifty little plate on the jamb with the nice little curve in the lip.
    The Latch is the working part of the lockset that retracts and extends into the Strike.
    A Plunger is used for unclogging drains.

    Since it's hot as all hell outside... I was able to pull up a few spots at the front of the wrap and take the bubbles out that formed.

    In the future, i bet it's a much better idea for it to be warm out when installing wrap. Nice and flexible instead of like a thin sheet of cardboard.

    What's the point...
    • Securely mounted
    • Gas can stay connected
    • Won't take up tailgate
    • Won't need a table set up
    I am a bit worried about the weight. She's a heifer, a lot heavier than i expected. It will be resting on the bed while it's in the stowed position and half on the tailgate in the open position. Options are to connect angle iron to the mount. The angle iron will form a shelf by supporting the back and halfway forward on the sides. Then the stove can bolt to that.

    Or just bolt the stove to the mount. It seems sturdy enough.

    So... I had 265/75/16 Duratracs (load c)for the last two years, they were great other than a possible balancing issue that turned out to be the needle bearing. After fixing the needle bearing, i got over 17mpg! For the last two years i have been excited to get 16, and i drive like Grandma.

    They were about half worn do i figured new tires would be good for the trip. And ko2s seemed to have a decently happy following, why not give them a try.

    Went with skinny 235/85/16s. The next morning i noticed that the brakes seemed to be trying to slow a lot more weight but didn't think much of it (steep driveway).

    Gas mileage was crap for two tanks, then realized that the ko3s were load e and 4 pounds heavier (49 vs 45). Mileage was back at 270 miles per tank.

    I checked with Discount Tire and they were able to hook me up since i didn't have many miles on them.

    Went back to the same size Duratracs and the first tank with same driving just got me 322 miles until the gas light.

    Lesson learned, a few pounds on the tires can make a HUGE difference.
