Yeah i still haven't started looking for a pad but I'll check them out for sure. I've got a nice klymit one but it's more of a backpacking one... I'd like something super comfortable.

Paco Pads are super comfortable and super warm, but on the heavy side. But, you don't care about that. If you want to get crazy, which is what I did for my sleeping platform, get this to go on top of Paco Pad. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01COF6NNG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The two of these combined will be as comfortable as your bed at home and you will sleep like a drunk baby.

Shit, if you're going to spend $200, get an Exped MegaMat 10. It's 77"x30"x4" in the LXW size. Ridiculously comfortable.

Partner Steel 22" stove arrived today. What a well-built gem that thing is. And, it fits 2 of those take-down Coleman aluminum ovens perfectly side by side. That's a lot of pizza rolls at one time...

@Seabass what did it run you? You did the 22" with windscreen, yeah? No stand or anything else? I think I'm just gonna pull the trigger. I hate having stove envy!

Yeah I got the 22" with the windscreen flaps that fold out and attach to the sides. No stand or anything, as I just use a camp table. I paid $290 with free shipping from www.elementoutfitters.com (there was some sort of instant $5.00 coupon onsite, too).

I ordered it 2 days ago at 9am PST, and it was shipped same-day and at my house in 2 days with free ground shipping. Came from Idaho, so you would also probably get it in 2 days being that you're in CA (unless you're rural). I live in the Phoenix area.

Damn you and your sales tactics.. Haha You sold me! You think the 22" is a good size? Plenty of room for two pots/pans? You don't wish you would of gotten smaller or larger? Sorry for all the questions.

I'm really happy with the 22". I was able to put 2 of those Coleman stoves on it and it was perfect (no windscreen, but not needed for that). I could also run 2 at least 10" pots/pans at the same time, or a stove and a pan. I'm a big fan of the windscreen wings, and this was the biggest one that had them. I'm very happy with my decision to go with this model for my uses.

Picked up this bear canister today. It's required in the wilderness areas where I live and I'll need it for the Glacier trip this summer, so I bit the bullet. They're a pain in the ass but at least this one is pretty light.25991.jpg 25990.jpg

Where in NC is a bear can REQUIRED?

EDIT. disregard. Damn. Since when did Pisgah start that? But I do t think it's a requirement for Glacier. Backcountry sites have hanging facilities.

I ordered mine from the same place, $265 for the 18". I wanted smaller due to it being just for me and also smaller for my mounting setup. It'll be here tomorrow.

Yeah you can use a bag or a canister in GNP, but since I needed a canister anyway, I just went with that for now. We had to have them on our trip to Cali last year too, no bags were allowed.

I'd sure rather set a canister away from my tent than have to hassle with a proper bear bag hang.

    On a backpacking trip?

I can fit 7 days in my large canister, and 5 days in each of the 2 smaller ones. That's enough calories to go 10-14 miles per day at altitude and with big elevation changes.
