I got a double cab, tow package 2016. 20k miles.

I got a new baby on the way and priorities have changed. I'm looking to see if I can trade in and make a deal to buy a pre-certified sedan.

Any suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks
    BR

What's wrong with the truck? I have one rear facing and one booster seat in the rear of my double cab and while the rear facing may keep the passenger seat forward it also does so in my wife's Acura TL (midsize sedan)

First, congrats on the new kiddo on the way, my daughter is the best. Secondly, I have a 4 year old (pint sized dictator) and the car seat fits great. A few trips with the family it has been a comfortable truck. Thirdly, kidos do add up and we all want the best for them. So if finances are they key, best of luck on the next car or truck.

    Cheers,

Yes some have and some want to but won't admit it for fear of getting shamed by TW members. Tough question to ask here without a shit show getting started. I've looked to trade mine but ultimately it's going to cost me 4 or 5 grand to get out of the truck and into something new and of equal or greater value.

Has to be finances, because little ones go into the back seat waaaay easier on my back than into my wifes sedan. Maybe an older Taco???

Oh man, we have had two toddle seats in mine with two adults up front - no issues at all. Now we cannot do three seats, but my buddies GMC 4-door can, but it is tight.

Yes they have. Several here have talked about it.

They are starting to appear on buy-here-pay-here lots in this area.

They are almost 2 years old. Some people see the next shiny baubble and run right along.

    So yea.

It's like any other car deal. If you are going to trade, it's going to cost.

Have two kids...a 7yo and 3yo. Older is in backless booster and little guy is in regular car seat. Plenty of room for them until at least early teenage years.

Not fair. You're so tall you have to sit in the back to drive anyway. :p

I have three little ones and 3 rear facing car seats. Fits fine, if that's your worry. No doubt a Tundra would be night and day better fit, but not many sedans are much bigger. I have a 16 and Car Max came calling the other day to offer more than I owe to say the least. So to make a short story long, yeah you should be alright on a trade in, bud. Best of luck

Not sure what you're looking for here OP.

If you're asking whether you should or not, that's up to you. Don't waste your time asking this gaggle of mushheads.

Personally, it makes a lot more sense doing what you think/feel is right than holding on and resenting / regretting not following your instinct.

We actually have some on this forum that I wish they would man up and make the trade instead of just whining nonstop. Go for it OP.

3 car seats fit but it's tight. Truck is great for hauling all the crap you are going to need to do anything. Stroller? Throw it in back. Dog? Throw it in back.

I've started calling dealers out of curiosity, but I imagine I'll end up at the same conclusion - doesn't make financial sense. If I can find a pre-owned 2015/2016 4runner and get into for a reasonable price, it will be hard to say no. Shit, even if I can manage to get close to a straight trade for my TRDOR for an 4R SR5, I would consider it.
