Yeah, but it would be a shame to lemon something like my truck due to parts availability. I honestly had no problems with my truck. I mean, even the rear diff had just 2 spots of minor seepage.

It's funny, now the dealer tells me only to deal with the service manager directly, and not talk to anyone else. I can tell from talking to them, they are just as frustrated as I am.

Rear diff nuts are only 12mm. Checked lightly and all are tight. Cleaned off the fluid film. Will watch for any sign of a leak. Checked fluid and level is good. Going to put off going to dealer till they get there act together!

Called Toyota customer service. Spoke to Julia Davis, she said the dealership has every right to hold the vehicle for safety concerns. She said the procedure is if no leaks are found to recheck torque and release vehicle. If leaks are found to hold vehicle. There is no repair instructions at the time. My case #1705040934 she gave me as proof of our conversation.

I asked the dealership for a larger vehicle since I need it to carry stuff. They said they would get me something comparable. I went to enterprise they said all they can get me is a mini van. Since it's under toyota warranty the dealership told them it has to be a toyota product.

@smitty99 Have you taken yours in yet?

I haven't taken mine in. I'm not technically on the recall list and I'm not sure I want to drive a yaris around for 2 months while they sort it out and work through the problem.

I had mine replaced already once and it is not leaking. My truck is not on the list.

I just chatted with Brittany on a live Corporate Chat window and she told me they are absolutely authorized to hold those trucks on the recall list until they are able to make them road-worthy again.

Then she tried to sell me a 2017 Limited. What a bitch!
